And I regret hijacking BaldEagl's thread.

No worries.  I learned something that may help as I take on my challenge.

So yesterday I fly the A6M-2 for three sorties.  Three kills, two landed and then notice the camp hasn't started yet (forgot about those delayed weekend starts).   :bhead

I see today it still hasn't started.  So as soon a Skuzzy gets us going I guess I'll have to do a do-over.

Hey now, I didn't say I was going to get a kill in every plane, only that I'd fly three sorties in each and do the best I can (excluding timidity).

As little as I've been playing I have to set a low bar.
The only record of a sortie is either a "Kills in" or a "Died in" stat.

I'm going for at least one "Kills in" per fighter.

Day 4: 18 fighter types. A lot have been ground vehicles, but a kill is a kill.

More importantly, BaldEagl, how are you doing with the treatment?  :salute

I've only gotten in 5 aircraft so far and am falling further behind.

Treatment?  All I'll say is that this better work because it's not fun and I really don't want to have gone through this for nothing but I'm surviving and possibly doing better than expected.  5 weeks down, 4 to go.

I know you're all going to be wildly disappointed by this but this just hasn't worked out for me this month.

First I stated on the first which was a weekend not realizing the camp hadn't reset yet so I started over once it had.

Then I found out how long it takes to fly three sorties in the MA and find fights, especially if the arena populations are low.

The second day I logged on and was blissfully flying the A6M's when I suddenly couldn't fly the A6M-5 (ENY 20) due to ENY restrictions.  I thought about switching sides but at 2:30 in the afternoon it meant I'd be stuck the rest of the day.  I haven't been for or against it in the past but if the change rule would have been 4 or even 6 hours I'd have switched.  Instead I logged off for the day.

Then I had to go in for chemotherapy.  I developed issues eating due mostly to radiation and as a result also wasn't drinking enough (water).  A week later when I went in to have blood drawn and get the dressing changed on my permanent IV I was wiped out and the nurse suggested they give me IV fluids and also suggested getting them daily.  Unfortunately, scheduling at such a late date meant I had 1-2 hour a day sitting at the hospital between appointments waiting and cutting into the time I planned to fly.  While I've cut this back to three times a week and the appointment times have improved there's still days I have to wait around.

As a result of this and my prior lack of playtime it was too easy for me to just give up on it for now.  My treatments all come to a close the first week of December so I may set a more modest goal of one or two kills per plane for December and give it another go.  We'll see.

Anyway, sorry I didn't come through as promised.  On the plus side my health is mostly good and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Great news on the health. Chemo is tough.  :salute

I am currently at at a kill recorded in 50 fighters. In terms of conditions, that's it: at least one kill in the stats. Nothing about landing them. Nothing about what was killed. There are a few proxies in there. There are a few single kills with many deaths. With 71 fighters on the list, I might get close, especially over the Thanksgiving weekend.

But, BaldEagl, let's keep perspective. Your recovery matters way more than this game. Hang in there. Get well.

Now, how to shave Lusche/Snailman's noggin?

Bald Eagle,
-Attempting- the challenge is the important part. How long it takes is of absolutely
no imporance at all.
You've taken up a challenge that very few guys in Aces High would attempt.
In so doing, you've raised the proverbial bar for us all.
Hang in there and best of luck to ya!

Best regards, Odd
