I just replaced my 1k ram video card with a 4k ram one. the 1k used to show how much mem was being used and ran at about 800 then would reset my card from being out of mem.
The new card shows 0 mem being used and still will say that i am running out. Why is it say ) mem used now? is there something I need to do to get it used?

Did you remove your old video card drivers and install new ones? And further, have you installed your motherboard drivers (available here: http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3855#dl)

The "not digitally signed" message for your video and audio devices made me suspect that you might be missing some critical drivers.

I did install the new ones but didn't take the old ones out but used the undated ones for the new card, the old card was an nvidia GTS 450 to a GT 730 so the biggest difference was the video ram from 1k to 4k.

Thanks for the info but I don't think that either card is bad for AH when it comes to speed. My problem was running out of memory on the card and it would reset my graphics while flying. Took like 4/sec of black screen and as you know in a fight that's not exceptable.

If the speed of the card cant run the graphics fast enough, all the memory in the world isn't going to help you.

True but this is not the problem as I said, I get 40 to 60 fps and those two cards should run AH fine. My problem is the memory on my old card at 1k would get filled and reset. The new card at 4k memory does not say its being used at all and gives me a message to turn down graphics. At least the old card showed in game how much of my 1k was being used and my 4k cards says its using none.

Uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them shouldn't be too much of an effort to try. Even if both cards were using the same driver version, the installation procedure checks for the card and adjusts the settings accordingly. That's why you should always get rid of all old settings before installing new drivers. If I remember right the in game  "Control I" doesn't report the right information. Im not sure if they fixed that. It reports what windows is saying and windows was screwed up with it.

If your old card took 1 second to run through 1 meg of graphics and the new card being slower takes 4 seconds to run through 4 meg of graphics you can see that more memory isn't going to help.

The cleaning and reinstalling of the drivers is a good first step. I havn't researched cards in a while but from what little I saw in Bizmans link shows your choice may have been a step backwards.

I suspect that XP is part of the problem. Unfortunately the GT 730 has a reduced texture fill rate and only slightly better pixel fill rate when compared to the GTS 450. In any case I would opt for a card that has DDR5 over a card that has DDR3 no matter what the size of the memory frame is.

I understand the attractiveness of a card that is so affordable, but in reality it is not really a bargain if it prevents you from enjoying the games you want to play, or if you are getting hung up on the ctrl-i report. There are much better purchases available.

Again, if your going by the in game (control I) as your reading it is wrong.

In AH mine reads 4038.0M available, and 6.7M used
In AH beta it's 1990.7M available, and 665.0M used

Same computer, same card, same configuration.
