A good morning to reflect on college football

That was good to see.

The fastest guy is chesson.  I think coach Jim might be third fastest.  But that depends on the wind direction when they race.  The post practice race always goes to chesson.

Guys I'm not trying to start a peeing war.  Michigan is very good and so is Wisconsin.  Michigan State is good and can be trouble to anyone.  OSU IS the youngest team in the FBS and playoff series.

There are 44 players on the roster this year who will be playing for the first time.  Mistakes will be made for sure which could put Ohio State out of contention.  Growing and learning the key.

Remember OSU lost to Va. Tech the year they won the first playoff championship.  Anything can happen.  I just love college football.  I just like Pro Football, big difference between love and like.

I have just presented facts.  I like the situation in the BIG this year as being described by SEC talking heads as maybe the best college football conference.  About time respect is earned by the BIG.

Fact:   that respect is possible because The Ohio State University made it happen.  OSU forced other  BIG schools to get better and hire better coaches such as at Michigan State, Michigan, Penn State

and a few others.  OSU was carrying the torch alone.  There wasn't a team in the BIG that had National Championship capabilities.  It used to be Michigan and Ohio State then unfortunately it was

only Ohio State.  Now during Bowl Season the nation no longer laughs at the BIGs' bowl record.  We win more then we lose.  About dam time dontcha' think?  You can thank OSU for that.

MSU has held a hand over osu in the less-Michigan Era.  Without any ncaa sanctions.  Don't forget about MSU, like the buckeyes seem 2.

For 7+ million a year, Nick better damn well be winning, and with 7 of the top 15 highest paid coaches in the country in the SEC, the conference better be REALLY good. 

Michigan is probably at least 1-2 years out before even being considered a threat, OSU could be this year, but probably realistically more like next year.

These things tend to run in cycles, and right now the SEC schools have what seem to be bottomless bank accounts.

Urban makes just under 6, Harbaugh on the other hand makes 7 mil. 

I'd like to buy the " success drives the money"  but the reality is in my mind that is wrong.  I have a daughter who was a D1 athlete, and she was successful.  At a school that necessarily was not in the sport she played.... ( yea it was a big 10 school )

I have first hand seen the disparity from program to program and conference to conference, and it exists in all sports, mens and womens.

It's college!!  If you think the $$$$ spent does not play into buying success........  I know you are way smarter than that.   Sadly I have seen it first hand.   

Kids will go where the best coaches are, they will go to the school who has the newest facilities, and where the most $$$ are going to be spent on them.  That is a fact sadly.

 

P.S.   I'm not seeing anyone yet who is going to beat Bama anytime soon either.

I see it like this, I like a lot of teams out there, but I tend to like under dogs.   Which right now has me really liking WI, even with the loss at MI  ( which to lose by 7 at Ann Arbor ) is quite respectful.

The point I want to make about the Saban's in CFB, and there are very few, is an all round great coach recruits well to attain good talent, and previous success is a big factor, is a great game coach that adjusts to their opponent, and makes good decisions are expensive.  It is what it is.

After SDSU lost this past Saturday, Bama currently holds the longest winning streak at 17.  Hoping that streak continues to 23 and a playoff birth!

And who did OSU beat in 68 to win the championship?  Ohio State has beat Oregon twice in the last 4 years.  Or is it 5years?  Don't remember but OSU has beaten them twice both Bowl games.  OSU also beat Jake the Snake at Arizona...

in a bowl, while Arizona was celebrating a Victory while Germain was leading the Bucks down for the winning touch down.  Every school wins.  Part of the game.  Someone has to lose.

I just love college football as a whole.  All teams always have a chance.  Kids play.  And their enthusiasm is fantastic.  Alabama is #1 no matter what.  They are the Champs until someone beats them.

Absolutely.  I was just responding to whose athleticism was shown in the Wisconsin game.  Chesson, Butt, and others are also great athletes.

Brooke........why don't we explain to these people the rivalry between Ohio and Michigan that started long before football. It started in the early 1800s'.
