5 free perk rides/mo.
« on: October 25, 2001, 03:29:00 PM »
I have gotten support for the idea of  everyone gettng 5 or even 3 free perk rides/month. THis  will enable everyone to  enjoy usage of perk rides in MA, meaning, the newbies, or  part time players  who  fly infrequently and  would need months to get  the points for a 262 or  chog. PLease dont  respond that this will have an arena with all 262's. MOst  of them will be   destroyed with the first usage. New players and lesser skilled players  will not  effect the arena  in a chog or 262 and they wont have them the whole month as they will lose them fast. The benefits are  you will see missions  with perk rides, more incentive to fly together and everyone  will  be able to at least fly choice rides  once a month. I would like to at least see this done  one month on trial basis.
I hesitated to post this, as  the last time i posted something  the response  from those against it  were personal and insulting with no respect  or courtesy. Others have received the same response  be  a select rude few that keeps usage of this board lower than what could be.

Good idea.  Five Uber planes a month for everyone, but dump the perks.

You mean this topics where you came out slinging "it" from the hip?

Anyway, as for your idea here? Presented much better  :)  I'm personally all for it. I don't need em but I know it would be nice for others who do or would like to for them to have them.

I think this is a good idea.  I also would like to be able to "give" some perk points to a squaddie in order to fly a "perk mission" from time to time.

<edit> 3 free rides is lots<edit>

This isn't a new idea  ;) But I still like it. 3 a month is plenty. It would probably be better to just give everyone a certain amount of points a month...say 100 and they can use them how they wish. Give everyone 3 rides and you'll never see a Tempest or 152 again.

i say no. i like the perk system . it encourages diversity. oftentimes i will feel like taking up a 109g10, but i will take a g6 since i earn perks/time much faster in it.

want perks? fly less used planes and get kills. cant earn perks cuz you spend all your time in a n1k or a spit? too bad. assuming the same kills per time you will earn perks 16 times faster in a c.205 than in a n1k so consider that.

I would support up to 2 or 3  free perk tickets per month but with the follwing restrictions.

1. You only fly 1 sortie per free perk ticket. This means once you land thats it, no reupping or refueling without incuring the full perk cost.

2. The perk tickets expire every month. No stocking up month after month. If you wanna fly perks all time go earn them.

3. Only 1 free perk flight per week.

4. No perk points earned at all on free ticket rides.

Or HTC could just make a free perk day once a while. This would also be an excellent solution to this legit unfair issue.

Perks should be earned, plain and simple. Otherwise its a welfare program.
NO FREE PERKS!

Anyone with more than 50-100 perk points should not be allowed a "free" perk plane.

nah
just give everyone who has less than 200 perk points in fighter category additional perk points to bring their total up to 200 in the fighter category at the beggining of each tour.

those who have 200 perk points get none.

so then the newbie has 1 262 to fly or if they choose they have enough to loose several chogs or ta152s, or a few f4u4s, or a couple temps

p.s.
I have lost 3000 perk points flying the me262 (well flying it poorly) so I am not too worried about new people loosing these perk points each month to various reasons

I think 5 is too many.............. (1000 points! or 50 points?)

1 free ride in each perked plane would  be more like it.

Chog is hardly perked its points are so low.

(no I aint saying raise  them)

ability to gift perks would be cool

I like the idea but I would rather it be a free day where no perks are earned if you ride in the perk.  Being one of the types who is not able to fly 60-100+ hours a month like some of our community members it is tough to get up there.  But then I don't want to fly that much as it means I have no life....  :D

I Think Fester said it best - top up each account at the begining of each tour to a minimum of 200 Perkies.

After all, elementary school's free....
