But the darbar is broken way beyond that 'fog', for a long time now.

I've looked for this issue that you posted previously, to no avail.

An AH film of it may help me find it.

Which one?  I've compared with other players to find darbar discrepancies... in that one of us will show enemy darbar and the other not.  I've also had opponents (single) make it to 20k+ from 2 sectors away with no darbar at all, until within Icon range.  I get that there's a delay, but this is a very long delay.

As far as gaming impact in general, I don't see that much of a problem.

is this true?  i always figured the glitch was my computer not getting notified.  it is only when the con becomes visible does the dar appear.?  so, if a con activates a warning wouldnt that be my computer being notified, thus a dar bar would show with the strat warning?

In my experience, only getting a visual (or, most of the time, a local dar dot) on a 'stealth' plane gets it a darbar, and not any base alarm.

True.  I have been informed by a highly reliable source... that a "clever" pilot could go a very long way "darbarless" by altering his flight path in certain ways.  No specifics though.

I for one wish something like this would change. Just for there a chance to be more action the maps. I wish the radar was harder to destroy. Much like a shore battery. This would allow more players to be aware of fights while not always depending on the dar bar to wonder if it will be worth your time rolling.

If you fly noe until outside the dar ring and then climb you will have no dar bar as long as you stay out of any dar ring.

I for one am satisfied with Hitech's dar-bar system.  It is not perfect but as Hitech posted, it was not meant to be perfect.

Got some really good replies and thank everyone for that.

That sounds nice and testable if that is the case. CV would likely be the easiest place to launch from.

I can vouch for this, because it's happened to me.  I can't remember if it's just one map, or all of them, but I've been on long range bomber flights where I started off xx xxx xxxx, xxx xxxxxxxxx xx xxx xxxx xx xxx xxx, xxx xxxxx x xxxx xxxxx, xxx xxx xxx, xxx xx xxxxxxxx xx xx xxxxxx xx xxx xx,  xxx xxx xxx xx xxx xxxxxx.  xx xxx xxx.  I was essentially invisible on dar.

I was never sure why it happened, But it did happen.  Tumor, I may have told you about it while I was on that flight.  I clearly remember having a conversation about it while I was on that flight, but I can't remember if it was you Tumor or another Rook, sorry.

Edit: details removed.  Skuzzy and Hitech, I'd be happy to share what I experienced via email or PM.
