Airfix Dogfighter:
Quote
The game is strongly focused on recreating the "toyish" feel of model airplanes in "hand-held dogfights", rather than being an advanced, super-realistic flight simulator

Aces High:
Quote
Aces High is designed to be very representative of air combat through the use of real world tactics.  While the game is easy to learn, it is difficult to master.  However, you don't have to attend ground school just to figure out the start sequence of an engine.  We don't model complexity for the sake of it, but we don't shy away from factors we feel are inherent to the real experience.

Hrmmmmm, anyone else see the similarity.....

Yak: 50 hours isnt alot over the course of a month, I also didnt say playing that much is 'ok' I just used that as an average for much some one might play, to show that they would get more 'bang for thier buck' playing AH than going to a big production movie. 30 dollars a month is pretty cheap considering how much you could 'possibly' play. You couldnt sit in a movie theatre for 50 hours on 30 dollars watching all the movies there, but you could easily sit in front of your computer and play a flight sim for 50 hours and imho get more enjoyment.

I think that whole bit was the only serious part of my entire post   And the .223 round despite what flakbait said. A high powered .223 rifle (m16 or m4..5.56mm) firing longs while certianly stay within 5 inches under the barrel after a second of flight, which is 3,000 some feet, a .50 caliber round fired from a much longer barrel, with alot more power behind it in the shell, fired from an airplane goin 220 mph forward should fire straight much farther. A cannon shell however as heavy and large as it is, falls about where it does in the sim.

Uh-huh, and 50 hours a month on Warbirds will come out to $100.  Time to check in for that medical help I guess.  Unless your point was that playing AH somehow makes you "more sane" than a person who plays WBs for the same amount of time.

Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.

Actually, Fallen, it doesn't matter how much gunpowder, or how long the barrel, or how heavy the bullet.  Gravity is constant and any shell fired from any level barrel(discounting aero effects, of course)  will drop the same amount over the same distance.

The good thing about AH going for pay in 2 weeks is that some of the Brand X diehards will be gone and we can start having more intelligent posts. (i.e. Knights Rule! and Why do the other sides suck so bad?)

Actually those rounds doesnt go straight 1000 yards...
Grab a plane with nose mounted guns on the runway, then shoot and you'll see tracers go all around

This guy has an incredible understanding of ballistics...not correct, just incredible.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Gadfly replace "distance" in your statement with "time" and you're correct.

So gadfly, your saying a glock18 firing one round, the bullet will fall the same amount in 3000 feet as one round fired from a sig commando....or an 88mm flak gun, or a 105mm howitzer...becuase according to you, bullets and gun length mean nothing.
