Gonna keep it sweet and to the point.

1. UI (user interface) Looks like a MSVB app I could write in 10 minutes, with my finger cut off, and blind folded, with the keyboard upside down. You expect people to pay per month what most games cost as a one time fee with a VERY amutuer looking menu/background.

2. Uh, wheres the rest of it? If I remember correctly, the ol v1.0 symbol means its 'done' barring unforseen bugs that need to be addressed later, but for the most part, there it is, complete. There isnt even flak for gods sakes, let alone fully modelled (and not very well modelled) aircraft.

3. Im not a pilot or anything, but I see people on this board who are or claim to be who want some real flight data and hard numbers on the planes. If the FMs are so great as you claim, give em the data.

4. Gun modeling. HELLO? Is any one home, I didnt bring it up before becuase I figured it was for BETA purposes, but why to the bullets fall after 450 metres of travel, but arent effected by wind (is there even wind?) Even a .223 long rifle fires darn straight to 1000metres or so. Id assume a .50 cal round would fare even better.

5. Cyborg ack gunners. Nuff said.

6. Sprites are out. We are in the 21st century now, lets act like it. Ill go so far as to accept voxels, but sprites and pixelated (even at hi-res') textures are a huge no-no. If this was a retail game, pc gamer/pc accellerator/firing squad would thrash you endlessly for out dated graphics. Any one seen the piccies of b-17 II? Exactly. Very dialed.

7. Gotta aggree with hangtime in another thread. For 30 bucks a month I expect 'when' questions answered about promised features.

Ok now the good.

1. 30 bucks a month. Aint THAT bad, check this equation.

2.5 hours of big time movie+soda+popcorn=10.50$$ down south X 4 weekend outtings to see them=42.00$$

Hours of entertainment?

10

50+hours (casual gamer, few hours every day after work and on weekends in spare time) of aces high

30$$

Much better ratio.

2. Good community support, youve got good people flying your sim and that just rocks. Llama-to-Jockey ratio 10 to 1. (translates to 10 good players to 1 'dweeb' as you all put it)

3. Fun factor is through the roof, but I have fun playing darts, doesnt mean im gonna shell out 30bucks for it. (though still pay attention to ratio above, its not that bad, but other hobbies are cheaper, all im sayin)

4. Detailed Damage model is good if not the best of any flight sim ive played. Feed back from the damage youve taken and how your flying is top notch, very easy to have good SA

5. Youve shown over the past few weeks that you CAN get things done, now just keep it up and bring us all out of the beta and into pay for play with some truely ground breaking stuff and youve got a winner.

Final Thoughts:

Very good _non retail_ game. Gamers as a whole expect more, but your not aiming at gamers, your aiming at the flight sim junkies who swarm on this stuff like crack. (some of you who payed more than 100 bucks for WB need mental help, some people do it in vegas, you do it over the net. Your sick sick people, spend your money on your wife/kids/dog..just say no!) online pay for play games have proven to be a cash cow *cough ultima online cough* so your not going to be poor any time soon. Personally I dont think its near finished, and I think that youve fallen into the trap of thinking you can get free beta testing from the community to give you feedback on whats right/wrong and then they dont give you the feedback you want, and start expecting things from you (hence why the rest of the gaming companies dont do open betas, ValVe, Id, Epic, they just finish thier games , what a concept, then sell them in the store, woah another concept, and make the money and let it alone) I still think your a talented bunch of guys, but going all the wrong way, trying to find the thin line between succeeding and getting the 'right people for the right game' unfortunalty those people are very few and far between, so you end up charging them the ol american dollar monthly to make up for it. I think if you all sat down, got thinking, really poured sweat and blood into a game, then released on the shelves, youd have much better luck. But thats just my opinion.

Wow...

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I happen to think it is worth the $30 a month, I like the progress it has made, and I will continue to support it until such time my opinion changes. YMMV

Of course if you really intend to be taken seriously you might tone down the sarcasm a few notches. You seem to be simultaneously lashing out at everyone and no one in particular at the same time. I can almost see the veins sticking out on your neck.

We'll see what comes now. I've seen a few people suggest on other forums AH is doomed from the start. I guess we'll soon see!

Help! Ive "fallen" and I cant get up!  hehe

Pass the crack pipe buddy, your intelligence is stimulating.

As far as spending my money on kids and wife, Im lucky to get 30 friggen dollars
when their done with my slaved ass!

Its nothing like vegas or reno, at least there you will experience the hoax of making your money back and then some (would you like another drink).  Here it is simply a pleasure expense.  A trade off from the cubicle world.  Real fun with real people.

Ah the fists didnt go up so quickly this time. Accept yeagers, but im sure he has nothing better to do than read game forums and make blatantly idiotic comments. Remember kids drugs are bad. I hope your kids actually do end up smoking crack at some point so youll realise how freaking moronic it is to make jokes about it after theyre lying on a hospital bed, dead, becuase thier hearts exploded mmkay. Secondly your wife and kids deserve the money im sure.

Lastly, real fun with a virtually simulated, but not quite unreal, yet so cheap itll blow your socks off, buy now and we'll throw in this amazing towel set! You watched to much tv as a kid pal. A good trade off from the cubicle world would be buying a mountain bike and exercising, not saying playing computer games is bad (gotta stay a liberal and aggree with everything, yet nothing) just saying its a nice, cheap, fun, hobby, but when you spend more on your games than your car payments or electric bill, you have a serious mental disorder, or WAY to much money. And if you have way to much money, I dislike you emensely, becuase more likely than not you dont deserve it, if you DID, would you really be wasting it on video games instead of putting it into stocks or a bank or even under your mattress?

Oh yes, totally forgot, dolomite, I dont want to be taken seriously, infact I dont want to be taken at all, its quite a long and intracite proce...err..nevermind..see.. I never had a teddy bear, so I feel the need to lash out author...err..no thats not right either becuase I had a teddy bear *sniffle* I miss schmee...no one got that of course becuase no one reads johnen vasquez (lies! you tell lies!) but honestly, I really dont want to be taken seriously, just read what I wrote, chuckle about it, then realise its the exact same things that are posted 100 times else where on the board (that ive seen even the 'respected' people post about) and hopefully figure out that you all sound as insanely ignorant to me as I do to you. Its the same information, said in the most annoying manor, hopefully to prove a point. But I doubt it ever will.

"ValVe, Id, Epic, they just finish thier games , what a concept, then sell them in the store"

Yeah, and their games suck!  Like a pretty blonde with nothing upstairs.  It's still Castle Wolfenstein, but with better graphics and sound.  Yawn.

You've gone too far this time!  You insult blondes, fine, I'll let that one go.  But you insult Castle Wolfenstein, and it's curtains, baby!  Nobody insults a game with blue rock walls!

My favorite part of Fallen's analysis was where he said it was okay to play 50 hours of Aces High, but if you spent $100 on WarBirds ($2x50=100) you should seek medical help.  <g>

Actually, he had some good points buried in there with the rambling.  He needs to work on his rant skills though.  He uses way too much capitalization (especially on the I's) and paragraph breaks.  Think: "OOoohhhhhhmmmmm", and then write that one really long paragraph with no capitalization, no punctuation, and lots of shortened spellings.  Then we'll give it a high Rant Score.

Fallen,

Nice troll.  Good delivery, nice content, I especially liked the .233 being a flat shooter out to 1000 yards compairison to a 50 cal.  However you stopped to soon, and a really good troll doesn't show anything but contempt for the product and the company producing it.  Shoulda stopped before talking about the good things.

Overall a good first effort keep trying.

Fallen,

Next time you care to voice your opinion, just one side please.
My ex-wife had more direction in her thoughts.
Yea, thats right, ex., and yes I' m the one that punts the dog, and LIKES to shoot chutes.
You see, true or not I GET the point across quick when I speak.
Please practice, you're using up flight time.

Actually a .223 Remmington doesn't shoot straight out to 1,000 meters. According to ballistics charts I've got it shoots level with the barrel at 143 meters [55 grain bullet at 3,240 ft/sec]. And it drops 59.4 inches below the barrel at 500 yards. BTW 60 inches is 5 feet.

A .50 caliber round from a match-grade barrel will shoot flat at 383.1 meters [660 grain bullet at 3082 ft/sec]. And it drops 32.6 inches at 500 yards. That's almost 3 feet.

So much for your ballistics knowelage.

Fallen has his points in btw the rants though. Version 1.0 should contain more and the jump from V 0.50 to 1.0..!

For my own part im not ready to pay 30$ before a number of things are implemented (for ex: flak) and bugs corrected. Ill wait for B17 II

Ill still play the 2 weeks

and in a chasing shot at 300mph how far have those laser .50s traveled before they hit.. not going to do the math but 1100? nock 400fps off of the velocity anyway

and that 10 minute Visual Basic app that he would maim his finger and write would probably have an 8mb download just for those 2 screens forget the rest of the application
