Creating new PC
« on: November 23, 2015, 12:51:54 AM »
I have continued to have problems with discos on my main computer.  To try to address this, I've built a second computer that has nothing but Windows 10 and Aces High on it.  I want to copy my current gameplay to the new computer.  However, when I copy the current HiTech directory from my old computer to the new one ("H:\Games\Hitech Creations" - which includes "Aces High" & "Collected Game Aides"), many (or most) of my stick settings are gone.  What directories/files do I need to copy to completely transfer my game play to the new computer?

FX, I don't think it's possible. In the end you will have to go through the stick setup routine again.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

External hard drive would not do this?

Is your game installed on your new computer on the H Drive?
If I remember correctly it has been suggested that AHII be installed to it's default directory.  C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High

I haven't had my AH on the C:\ drive for years now, if ever.

You remember correctly. Exceptions are for those who know what's needed to do for those to work.

@FXDS99: As Chalenge said: new PC, new ports. You'll have to tell your new computer what each port is supposed to do. Telling what grandpa used to do can only give some hints to be evaluated. Just as it's with kids, they also have to build their lives and wisdom from scratch instead of just getting it all from above.

As for installing a fresh install of the current Aces High Game, you can copy all terrains, skins, settings folders over, you will just have to go into the controllers setup and assign your axis  ( pitch, roll, yaw, etc... ) and recalibrate your controllers in both Windows and in Aces high.......

reboot your computer, then most times any keymapping or controller buttons you had already had program, most times will pick back up just like they were,

YMMV

regarding the Alpha:

Skuzzy posted the following thread regarding what can be used from he current AH game in the New Alpha3 game:

Settings files you can use from the current game

The files with the following extensions may be copied over, from the current game "settings" folder.
------------------------------------
*.JSM
*.KMP
*.HPS

The "planes" folder may also be copied over.

"Skins" are not supported yet.

Please do not copy any of the *.CFG files over.

do not copy any other files or settings , etc... from your existing Aces High Game to the Alpha Game

hope this helps ....   PS: be sure to go into Power options and turn off USB suspend, so your USB ports do not drop power if you go for awhile without moving them.......

Thanks to all for the responses.  Not what I had hoped to hear, but good information.  I guess this will give me the opportunity to implement the changes to my stick that I've been wanting to make but was too lazy to actually do.)   :)
