DD214
« on: November 24, 2015, 04:55:14 PM »
Picked it up yesterday, getting my ETS award this afternoon, and flying home tomorrow to start a new career. The Army life has been pretty awesome but it's not what I want to do anymore. Thanks to all of the Vets on here who have given me sound advice throughout my 7 years in the service(Yea some of you remember when I was still a squeeker in my sophomore year of high school...your some old men now :aok)

Nice!
If you go full bore, it's about an 8 year program before you're doing national ATC.

I dated a gal that made it to 6 years and opted to do ATC in a smaller airport, non-fed job (about 1/2 the money) but she didn't like the stress.

Congrats, Junky! I just don't feel seven years older!  ;-)

Here's an important tip for you: make SURE you go to your local County Courthouse and have your DD214 recorded. By doing this your DD214 becomes a matter of public record and should you ever lose your original DD214, you can get a notorized one from the Courthouse.

Good luck on your future endeavors!  :salute
