sweetFX configurator reinstall

need help, trying to install the sweetFX configurator.

Get either xx40.dll missing or xx43.dll missing. I did install the DX9 update. using NVidia driver 355.98.

It was working before I hsd to wipe my pc due to cryptoware virus. Now reinstalling watermelon and its a no go.?????

any SWEETfx users with intel?

ps I have manually added both files, now I just get a forced close instead of a pop up saying its missing.

what version of .net is required for AH if any?

I had the same problem with the SweetFX 1.5 configurator after a HD reinstall, couldn't even get it to work when I would bypass the configurator and manually install SweetFX.  Don't know if it's because of the Nvidia drivers that is causing it but I finally got it to work again using Reshade and the SweetFX 2.0 beta.  It's a lot easier to use than the old SweetFX configurator but the downside is that your old 1.5 SweetFX setting won't work and you'll need to redo them for SweetFX 2.0.

Just extract the files to your hard drive and then go to the directory where you unzipped Reshade to and run the Reshade.exe.  Just follow the onscreen instructions to point Reshade to the AH.exe.

I totally re-installed OS again, re-did it all again and it just force closes AH.

Might need to turn off the AA in the game video settings...it should work then.

Turning off AA is a good point but not what was up.

 

So any ways I got the 1.5.1 configurator back in and it appears to be working.

After multiple fresh installs of OS........................... ...

Had a real issue getting W7 sp1 to load, I tried things with and without, I still not entirely sure how I finally got it to start.......................m s has really screwed the pooch on updates. Had a dvd drive fail...........

Ultimately whats at issue here is the missing .dll 40 and 43 files that the configger says is missing. Just dropping those files into game, or system32 does not do it. I now believe it was the fresh DL's of dxwebsetup that was the issue. Since I was clean installing I just grabbed new versions, bad idea.
I ended up going thru my personal cloud and found an old DL of it I had. The last clean install, I did not use the NVidia driver till all other things were done. I installed the dxwebsetup I had, and immediately saw a load difference. When complete I went to the system32 and wowsystem32 files, they both had all the .dll files, specifically .dll 40 and 43. Then I loaded the nividia drivers, just the driver, hd audio, and PhysX.

It all appears to be as it was now before the virus. I am happy to copy and place the dxwebsetup file here if someone can tell me how to make it viable as a DL.

I thought I would have a issue with re-installing W7 since they stopped support and I was right. You need SP1 to use IE 11, you need IE 11 to access many websites. I could not get IE 8 to open pages, dl things........ what a pain.

ty m8 but since the configger is now working I will just run with it. Can't believe I spent all the effort to discover it was the lateset dxwebsetup that was at issue.

Just click on the Aces High link and click on "Add Preset".   Then copy your preset and paste it in the "Settings Text" text field and hit save.

My presets are there ACK.

I believe it now works because I had an older DL of dxwepsetup saved in my personal home cloud. Using current ones did nada, this older version loaded all the missing .dll files that were missing, that the configger required. I installed that dxwepsetup file before installing vid card drivers and game. It loaded stuff that multiple trys of current DL's refused. I tried several DX 9 c update files, only the older one worked.

I would be happy to copy and share. I wonder if it would load the files in an existing, longtime setup. Tell me how, maybe just place in a zip file and email would be enough....................... .
in 3 days I clean installed 4 times, 1st to wipeout cryptoware, 2nd cuz I bunged things up trying to uninstall updates and sp1 cuz I thought maybe .NET was the issue, 3rd cuz SP1 would not load properly and as a result no IE 11. IE8 would not function right. 4th cuz I wanted SP1 to use IE11so I could get good browser usage. The 4th time was a struggle getting SP1 to install right. I Had pretty much given up on sweetfx but I'm a little stubborn and refuse to be beaten by a stupid machine. It finally paid off. Where I was before cryptoware virus.
My WEI score is all 7.9 except cpu which is 7.6.

let me know if anyone wants the dxwebsetup I have. Try others and see if y'all have success getting the right .dll files in. They will reside in c>windows>system32 and sysWOW64. .dll40 and 43 what you want to see. I spent hours running this down................
