I am glad that I was able to finally see STP in 2011.   Great energy and hope that Scott is now at peace.   Addiction is brutal and I have had quite a few friends who fought like mad to shake it.

a good lesson for dopers. this is where it will get you. dead.

of course its easy for you to rationalize it.  well....next time you hit a low, gather up your balls, get away from your friends, get clean, and get a job that works you to sleep everyday.

or be like scott and go back to death, the choice is yours.

Indeed, and, in this, he may have additional value for the rest. Sometimes you have to bury one to save the rest. RIP, Scott.

There's a lot I'd like to say but none of it good. I will refrain.

oh my.  having been around drug users a good portion of my life, ive seen this tragedy multiple times, the pitty party is a waste of time.  i would guess mr weiland would love to have that nite back, not for himself but for the family he left behind.  last wednesday i heard a story about scott, after reluctantly signing a twenty year olds chest a family came next in line.  a young girl with her mother.  scott sat down and had the girl sit on his lap. he said to her, what ever you do dont grow up and be like that girl, and pointed to the twenty year old in the crowd.  he reportedly carried on a nice conversation with this family.  maybe because he was on the road and had a young daughter at home who knows.  Ive seen three people die from drug overdoses in the last fifteen years, ive seen people get sober, and i see people that are asking for death.  your threats to me are nonsense and i really think some people dont respect the gravity of this situation.

pardon me Sir....I don't recall ever threatening you!

please quote it and post it, where I threaten your person.......

The guy had problems, hell everyone has some type of problem ( no need to go into all the different types that exist ), but Scott had a great voice and he was a good person.......so F you for being some sadistic self thinking "perfection on this earth" piece of crap..........you are not the only one on this forum who has lost friends or family by way of the same way Scott went...........and that is not what this thread was about to begin with!.......

Karaya ( sorry you posted here, so I am using your name ), understands what it feels like to be there in the moment of a group you like to listen to, albeit LIVE, and vocals blaring......<---- that was my reasoning for posting..... I'm a music lover of all types.......... and how Scott went out happens in all types of music...... simple enough, huh?

It is ok TC, there is a reason I have him on ignore.   I had pretty much predicted his posts, before him being quoted.   I will go out on a limb and say DaveBB is no different.   You guessed which list that he is on.

here you go mash, from the surviving family. "Let's choose to make this the first time we don't glorify this tragedy with talk of rock and roll and the demons that, by the way, don't have to come with it. Skip the depressing T-shirt with 1967-2015 on it – use the money to take a kid to a ballgame or out for ice cream."
