Damage Model Rework
« on: December 07, 2015, 05:04:19 PM »
I think it speaks for itself, the damage model is quite predictable down to the aircraft you are flying.

P47 Pilot wound, Tail falls off
Spitfire: Wing falls off
Mossi: Pilot Wound
190D: Radiator even rear aspect hit
P51: Oil
F6f: Wing 1/2
109: Wing or PW
P38: Oil

Just been the same model now for the last 10 years and it gets a tad frustrating when the same old thing happens.

Addendum:

Maybe I missed it and a new DM has been added to Version 3?

I agree. 190 D radiator hit, you have 2 minutes to find a place to land.
If the P-38 gets an engine hit, why is so much oil on the wind screen ? :headscratch:

<head scratch>funny my p-38 oil leaks go back along the engine cowlings. Now my brains will regularly splatter around the cockpit.

I can't remember losing a whole tail on a P-47.  Lost a bunch on the P-39 and P-38.

I think you are way off on this one.

One thing I have found in AH is attention to detail is way beyond what we know or could even guess.  I am amazed every time I discover a detail of the modeling I had not seen or took for granted.

There is no oil on the canopy if a P-38 springs an oil leak.

I beg to differ. Evey time my P-38 gets an engine hit, there is oil on my wind shield ( if it say's oil damage).

LOL!!! this is what I was thinking too. Learn to fly better and you won't have so many parts falling off!

Post a screen shot of that  :devil

You can beg to differ all you want, it still will not change the fact that you will not get oil on the canopy if the P-38 springs an oil leak.

WOW! It's a joke.

If I wanted to criticize someone I might go on about how you seem to have issues with keeping on topic, but I won't  :D

Clearly you don't fly 38s much if at all. This doesn't happen.

You are mistaken here.  P-38s have twin engines with the cockpit being between the engines.  Could be simulated blood from a pilot wound you are seeing.  Are you color blind by chance?
