I have never built a model like this before so i am looking forward to it.

use some glue and paint, should help out.  :devil

Research the ship, and how to achieve the details you are looking for. Google is your friend.

That's a good kit! Tamiya makes quality products. You should have a good time with it. Just follow the instructions and test fit stuff before glue. Ive built quit a few models in my day so if you need anything feel free to contact me.

I personally know of four people who have built this model.   While Tamiya is typically detail oriented, in this one they dropped the ball.   One buddy recommends getting a pin vise (unless you already have one) and all of them recommend:
