This place is just a bunch of old geezers.   Maybe HTC can have a Geritol prize pack for anyone that stays awake past 8 pm.   :old:

$1,800 is cheap entertainment for 10 years of abuse.  :aok

I've had an uninterrupted sub since tour 1 (I think, the stats doesn't show any kills for me until tour 14ish, but I flew in the beta and sub'd when AH went 'live').

Hope my missus never finds out.

Started Air Warrior on Aol 1995  played NASCAR 2003 online for a while when Air Warrior died and tried Ah a couple times and finally got on until this past November . Pretty crazy all those years and this is probably my first post on the bbs. I may return playing one day if the numbers come back or the game gets updated but it's been a long 2 weeks and I finally got bored and lost interest .=<--O-O-->=

I started in aw back in 97.  took me like 6 hours to download using AOL.  thank god it was a free download.  after it went to pay by the minute I was paying more on AW than on my mortgage.  then some squadies told me about the gamestorm.  I played until early 2k.  then I started playing AH sometimes in early 2006.  my first id was guncrasher or something like that.  it was due to my playing abilities in AW.  I was one of the best gunners around for the b17 but I would crash every single plane either on takeoff or landing.  I switched id's from guncrasher to semp once semp became available a couple of years after I joined.  that had been my id in AW.

I had to check when I started, tour #19 Sept. 2001.  I played Air Warrior for a long time before that...  I should be getting my 15 year pin soon... Right?
My password at work had to contain exactly 8 characters… I chose Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

What is Airwarrior?

Air Warrior was the first multiplayer, on-line WWII air-combat sim.  It started in 1988 running on Macs on the on-line service GEnie, costing $12/hour to play.  There were people who ran up $700/month bills playing it (that's $1300/month in 2015 dollars).  It went through various improvements over time, onto other on-line services, and had various price reductions (to $6/hour, then to a flat fee per month for unlimited flying -- we were very keen on that!).  It was eventually shut down on Dec. 7th, 2001 (the 60th anniversary of Pearl Harbor).

There were a couple of avid players in Air Warrior with the handles "HiTech" and "Pyro" who had ideas on improvements.  :aok

I thought I was S I H Cotton, when I got 1200 baud

I started at 9600.  thought I would save a couple of bucks from a 26000.  didnt know what the heck baud was. I remember in 98 when PILES  mentioned he was getting a thing called dsl.  we all asked him what it was.  supposed to be faster than dial up, well all laughed as we didnt think it was possible.

November this year will be 10 years for me.  My first combat sim was Battlehawks 1942 in the late 80's.  Stepped away from games till my divorce, and I had some time to kill.  Saw the AH commercial on the Hitler channel (History Channel), and been hooked since Tour 82.
