Discussion on warpy planes
« on: January 06, 2016, 11:53:33 PM »
This is not a cheating accusation. This is a discussion on warpy planes.

Bret2947 was warping very badly when I went after him with a 163 while he was in a set of 234's. At the very end of the film I suddenly die for seemingly no reason. The action starts at around 6:00. After I died he was extremely hostile in PMs.

Screenshots are the PMs that were sent back and forth: http://imgur.com/a/qrWEl

Action starts around 6:00

So the questions are:

What is the deal with warpy planes and what can be done to fix it?

Can players intentionally cause their planes to warp?

Is it against the rules to cause your plane to warp?

Oh. You're going to ask about the PM. I did shoot down two 163s in my single 234. I have the film.

warping is caused mostly by packet loss from the connection. even the best isp servers can have this happen . there are so many reasons this can happen it would take all night to list them.
i was defending a base with Brett tonight and he did not warp when i was watching him. however this does not mean he did not when you saw him.
as for what can be done to fix the issue... a perfect internet connection 24 -7
1 Of these days you will regret shooting me down.

I see some warping but not much and I connect from Australia.  I usually notice it when bullets do not seem to connect but rarely do I see obvious warps.  It is obviously an internet issue and 99.9% of the warps we see are not caused by the other player.

There are some that can and will warp on demand.  They frustrate me but not enough to cause me too much of a problem.

When you want to talk about warping you don't need to name a player. If you have an issue with a player it's best to contact HTC directly.

I don't have an issue with him directly. Please read my post. I have an issue with planes warping and the odd timing of warping. I constantly hear about it and now I finally have it recorded.

You mentioned he was warpy and hostile in PMs and posted the PMs. I read your post, hence my comment.

OP,
Remember the game you see on your pc is not 100% in sync with the game on an opponents pc. The server is the 3rd decision maker. All pc's report to server, then server feeds each pc. So that's 3 separate physical locations that must be reconciled, times this by every player in your near vicinity. He could be DSL, you Cable, you across street from server, him Australia..........

So much emphasis has been placed on wireless whatever, that current infrastructure of the internet is less than well maintained. Lots of nasty storms all over, Texas getting hammered. Nothing we or AH can do anything about. :bhead

This is why some games have super graphics but minimum server numbers. ie: 16 All that super graphics plus a large player number really squeeze the old box.
Only way to do better would be a lan setup. So everyone pack up your rigs and lets pick a hangar somewhere. he he

I have been attacking bombers for a very, very long time. In all that time I can tell you that the worst warp you can possibly see is when a defensive bomber is jinking hard, yet stops jinking when you make your attack. Because of this I have adjusted my attack patterns, so that I do not collide with drones (drones are the warping planes usually). If you remain within 800yds of the bombers they will not warp, but if you extend out and then attack (while the bombers are jinking) then you will see warp and possibly collide.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.
