Seriously? Now Glenn Frey too???
« on: January 18, 2016, 04:53:49 PM »
Added to Lemmy and Bowie, Glenn Frey has passed away. Maybe the end of the world is truly high and the great cosmic muffin is putting together the greatest supergroup ever for the great gig in the sky.
RIP Glenn, there shall be much heartache tonight

And as I finished this, my wife informs me Dale Griffin, drummer for Mott the Hoople, has also died. This is going to be a weird year.

NEW YORK — Glenn Frey, who co-founded the Eagles and with Don Henley became one of history’s most successful songwriting teams with such hits as “Hotel California” and “Life in the Fast Lane,” has died.

Frey, who was 67, died of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia, the band said on its website. He died on Monday in New York. He had fought the ailments for the past several weeks, the band said.

“The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery,” a statement on the band’s website said. “Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide.”
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

This is getting very depressing. Lemmy, Bowie, Rickman, Frey.

Why can't Death go do something useful like pick off a Kardashian or three?
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

In the UK January has the highest mortality rate of any month. Partly its the cold weather but also there is some post-Christmas depression, charities like the Samaritans get busier this time of year. Plus some terminally ill people hang on through December for one last meeting with the family over the holidays before letting go.

I heard the oldest living man passed away yesterday at the age of 112.

So we can add him to the list!  Also Celine Dion lost both her husband and her brother within 2 days of each other.

Eagl's sig comes to mind..... in the end they all go away.. or something to that effect.

The Eagles in general, and Glen in particular, were a huge musical influence on me. :pray "Desperado" has been and always will be one of my favorite songs of all time. May he rest in peace.
