Thats how it worked going from AH1 to AH2

yes, but it was only for a limited amount of time while AH II was in open beta for several months......then AH I was shut down ( however it still could be loaded and played offline, iirc? )

Im sure what ever works for AH2 off line now will work later, however nothing will be supported. So if the mission editor craps out your out of luck. I know of some people that have used AH1 so that they could set up a LAN setup because that version use to be able to do that.
