Well... FWIW, it's never been a sim.  If it was, 2cmex wouldn't be able to pull maneuvers that would leave a real pilots brain firmly in his genital area.  In fact, a whole LOT of what we see going on in AH would be laughed out of a true sim. (no offense, it just is)

I was a KC-135 IP, including simulators ... and I have to agree with you.

But, we also have to give HiTech some credit. This is a pretty good simulation of physics given the hardware. A full motion, full cockpit simulator is nothing like real flight, either. We used to use them to practice Emergency Procedures. It was basically a light show - fire light, low hydraulic gauge, bad gear indicator, whatever. We practiced failures that were unsafe to do in a real plane.

This game does a good job getting the 3D feel of flying and fighting.

I saw a real cheater once in 8 years. He dropped about 50 1000lbs bombs on a v-base from a P51D. We were about 6-7 guys who were there defending the base.  Since I film all the time, I was going to send it in. Well by the time I sent it......he was gone....like gone disappeared like it never existed. That is what happens to guys who try that stuff.... they go "poof" for ever.
