No, seriously.  How do they go about detecting it in a way that A) doesn't penalize legit players and B) isn't blindingly simple to circumvent?  If you think about it a bit, you will see the problem.

I am sure there's a way...

You may not get the professional hacker, but getting the casual ones would be good enough.

In other words, you have no idea how to do it but assume there's a way.  Basically, you want magic.  And once somebody's figured out how to do it, the casuals will just follow along and do the same thing.

I don't know how to walk on the moon, either.  But I know it can be done.

HiTech's got all sorts of countermeasures to this stuff.  The question is whether the water is worth the well-digging.   No magic to it.  Ninety-nine percent won't even bother trying to defeat it after they're busted.

Stop being a jackwagon with your constant sarcastic nonsense.   You're starting to sound like Semp.

Whatever you reckon on the rest of the post.  It's impossible to prove a negative.  What on earth possessed you to say the above though?  If people are trying to get something for free, they ALWAYS look to get around the obstacle put in front of them.  The above is just flat out wrong.

In your world.

Most cheaters are amateurs looking for the easy advantage.  Make it hard for them and they move on to other things--or wind up permabanned for their persistence.

Yes, because people never ever google cheats for the games they play.  I'd say you're a bit backwards on who's not living in the real world.

And permabanning for idling?  That's a clear reminder why I'm glad you don't run the game.

He is at it again....

Dale.   Since vraciu seems to have all of the answers, maybe bring him on board?   There would be no need to have the General Discussion forum, as we could just consult the oracle and have our answer at a moments notice.

The boss permabans cheaters.  I'm glad he does.

Googling for cheats?    You don't think HiTech's onto those little ideas?

Dale, since all Masherbum seems to do is stalk me on the boards to insult me unprovoked (as admitted above) in all areas of the forum maybe you could tell him to knock it off.

In the meantime, I will select IGNORE THIS USER.

All I was pointing out was that when people encounter resistance, google is just a few clicks away.  Finding exploits and bugs in games has never been easier than it is today, and people do it all the time.  That one guy figures it out, and the masses copy the procedure or download the tool.

The above post does also raise yet another downside though.  If HTC makes it a concern, now they've got to expend resources staying on top of it.  We're back to the "is it worth the digging" that you pointed out.  In my opinion and apparently in HT's opinion, which is the only one that counts, the answer is 'no'.
