ENY and Tower Sleepers
« on: February 10, 2016, 01:45:02 PM »
There has always been a lot of talk about the ENY situation. I usually fly earlier model planes so not that big of a concern but have noticed for those that dont and are active they are being forced to early models for one simple reason...tower sleepers.  Its rather inconsiderate for folks to sit idle in the hopes that their side might just win and they will get 25 perk points. Maybe a solution to something like that would be an automatic boot after a set period of inactivity?

And what will be accomplished when they use one of the many easy methods to get around it?

this thread shows up at least once a month.  have seen hitech explain how tower sitters affect all 3 countries equally.  this is just a waste of e paper.

This from someone with 12,550 posts as of this writing.  Somehow I dont think wasting epaper is really that big of a concern for you. If it is however, why read about it and feel compelled to reply in such a way as you did?

Exactly... Instead of posting useful information that would "save paper" he just mouths off, thereby generating more "wasted paper" or whatever...

I do not live and breathe my life on these boards as you appear to do. Posts like this every week?  Really?  Please put links to these weekly posts regarding booting of inactive tower sitters and I will gladly stand corrected.

Look, I understand there may be similar posts on any number of topics.  With the number of posts generated since the creation of this board it is a statitistical inevetibility. I am not going to get into a pissing contest over this. I am not an "elite" member of this board as is evidenced by the number of postings I have made over the past twelve years. Since that is what HTC said, so be it.  That still does not justify my perception of the original responce to my post from Semp.  Add to that my challenge from me to him was to prove he has responded many times to posts regarding tower sitters. He is a big boy and should not need defending by you or anyone else.

I can see this has the potential of going downhill fast and will no longer be responding to further posts in this topic unless it be to stand corrected in regard to my challenge to Semp about weekly posts concerning tower sitters.

elc, hitech has responded many, many times, to the question of "tower sitters".  and threads like this pop up very often.  fugitive posted a replay that more  answer your question.

as for weekly thread, ok that was an exaggeration, but I see them every month or 2, maybe 3.  but the answer still the same as the thread fugitive quoted.

Generally speaking, I think HTC's theory in that all countries, on your average day wouldn't see a difference in ENY if all tower sitters are booted is correct, with one exception.  The worst ENY I see is when the country I am in happens to be close to winning the war.  Hordes of people just stay logged in, or switch to that country so that they get the perk points if the war is won.  This is the one time where tower sitters will cause an abnormal imbalance that could be helped with a tower time out.

You asked for a link and being the helping type of player that I am in gave you one.

Personally I hardly ever read the posts that semp posts, for the reasons you stated above.

I was just trying to be helpful,  that's all.

I can't say I have seen this in prime time.  Is tower sitting more common during off hours awaiting a side win?

That might be a question of percentage. 30 out of 300 is only 10%. I just logged in for facts, 25 out of 100 were sitting in the tower. That's too easy of a calculation: 25%. And I've seen worse numbers than that, the European Prime Time is about to begin, if that means the hours between dinner and bedtime.
