Track IR and film viewer
« on: February 11, 2016, 11:51:35 AM »
I wish there was a way to use track IR in film viewer. It would make in cockpit angles a lot more visually appealing. I hate using Ingame recording devices when I'm in heavily populated areas. Gets very glitchy for me.

Use Fraps or equivalent software to film (and get Teamspeak sound) with TrackIR

I use both OBS and ahfilm. That way if putting together a video I get the TIR cockpit views in the OBS video and can set up whatever clip I like from other perspectives using ahfilm. Best of both worlds.

Except that annoying red "R" in the corner. Wish we could turn that off...

I think you guys aren't quite hearing him right.  What it looks to me like he's saying is, he'd like to be able to use TIR inside the film viewer.  I think it would be pretty cool to have as well.  As well as what he's talking about it would allow you to see where things are relative to each plane a lot easier than using scroll bars to move the view around.

Might not be trivial to implement though, which is a shame.

Oh I get it and totally agree it'd be cool if the TIR views were captured in ahfilm. But that's a workaround for it.

You could always crop out the "R" with an editor if ya wanted to.

No.  What I think he's saying (or at least, what I'm saying) is, when you're running film viewer, having the ability to use your trackIR to look around in the recording, not recording the views at play time.

So while I'm playing the film, I could be looking around from whatever plane I'm sitting in as they fly.

Capturing the views at the time would be cool too though. :)

Yeah both would be cool. There must be some silly limitation that stops it working in films like it does in the game.

I find myself moving my head to look around all the time when looking at others videos that aren't using TIR! Hehe
