I found this semi amusing:

BBC News
Petals floating by,
      Drift through my woman's hand,
             As she remembers me-

wow. It is a bit amusing. From flying out while under fire to selling dildos and underwires  :)

But it is even more intersting to me than anything else. I'd love to read her bio (auto-biography would be better)

Ex-LW female porn monger?  I am saddened that the FDPs missed out on an ideal recruit.

Seriously though... an interesting story.

Must have been one hell of a woman!

Can you imagine the anguish of being a hormonaly challenged teenager and being completly unable to shock or outrage granny?   :)

Just shows gender is no indicator of balls!

If she was an 'open' sexual deviant (their term, not mine) I am surprised she survived the war at all...there are only 6 known homosexual survivors.  Remarkable woman!  Wish we had some like her here...the U.S. is just getting waaaaay to puritanical again.

Read an interview 6 month ago in the german "classic Airplanes" newspaper.

There she described her Pilot-life during the war.

Mrs. Uhse flew 109,110, some FW's and other modells till 1945 as a Luftwaffe-testpilot.

Can'T remember the details right now, will have a look when i get home.

She even had the qualification for the Me 262...  :D

Saw a 2 year old interview with her yesterday.

I <S> to her! What a life! Flying 2 wounded soldiers, her field mechanic and her 2 year old daugter (!!) out of Russain occupied Berlin with an aircraft not even marked "clear" for service...

Well, she fell into Russian hands and was treated very bad (e.g. raped) but her will to  survive and the thoughts for her child were stronger and she made it out alive.

She started her "business" by calculating the cycles (Knaus Ogino) for some women in a village - then she started selling condoms (it was illegal to sell condoms to unmarried persons by that time) and books about sexuality (anitconception)...

One strong woman!
