Just want to point out before posting this, I'm on the ALLIED side for this scenario.
The AXIS has to attack ALLIED bases A3 and A4 which are in the same key pad.
One the FSO golden rules is that attacks are to be separated, over the years we have all interupted this a little differently by time or distance. But we all follow that rule and I can say that from seeing many of the CO's plans and the guidance given to avoid a rule volition when strike packages are in close proximity of each other.
I can also remember very clearly why we had this rule placed in and that was to avoid a situation in which the attacking side combined all strike packages into one very large group and then went from one target to the next and there wasn't any way for the the defending side to stop it. Also to a avoid a situation in which the first target defenders stopped the attack and then no attack took place to the second target.
The targets given place the planners of both sides into a situation of rule volition due to the proximity. I'm all all for the big set piece battle guys but rules are rules and there for good reason. In my opinion for Frame 2 they should either be spread out to what has become a more normal distance of about 25-50 miles to keep the groups apart or one of the FSO golden rules should be deleted.
