Rather than small pads I'd use anti-slip/non-slip mat slightly larger than the base. Works also for pedals on a hard floor. Something like this:

Automotive stores sell the same stuff much cheaper in larger pads to be used in the trunk.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

You can also buy large rolls of the stuff as drawer liners in the household goods section.  20 foot long by 24 inch for less than $15.

Nothing wrong with some good ol' fashiond Bluetac to temporarily stick your hardware to.

Wow this joystick has a 12 bit controller in it! That's a huge resolution for a joystick.

Does anyone know what controller the CH line of products use?

The stick looks more ergonomic than the F-16 style.
Black Mamba and Kingcobra has good precision.
Warthog or X-52/55 has more precision, but moving stick feeling is not so good for me.

I'd really like to get both VKB sticks (well they have more than 2, but the 2 in this thread at least), and compared them with other sticks.  I'm just so impressed with their pedals, their sticks must be decent.  Saying that they have better movement but less precision is interesting when compared to the Warthog.  IMO the CH stick has the best precision for AH, with my Warthog being 2nd, but close, it's just tighter and therefore not quite as smooth for shooting for me.  I haven't tried the X55, but have an X52pro, but find the spring/base to be a little notchy unless you do some mods.  I just picked up a used Cougar in 99% condition for like 40$ USD or so, and it's still very accurate too, but heavy movement as well.  Sounds like the VKB are sort of in the middle of CH, Warthog, and Saitek.

Their WW2 stick would be cool for IL2 and such games.

Did you get the 109 keychain trigger with your purchase?  I'll put up pics of mine, it's pretty cool, I always get comments and questions on it if anyone needs my keys.

Blu-Tack's awesome and apparently not well known abroad. I use it in prototypes as temporary glue.
