EVGA 02G-P4-3753-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card. Looking to buy and idk if it's better than a 250 or not.

A dxdiag output would help.

The GTX750 Ti is quite a good mid range card but... What's a 250? The price? Or your current video card? You know, we can't compare apples to peanuts.

I'd say overall the 750 Ti is about 10 to 15 percent faster than the 250 GTS.  You have to remember, with NVidia the last 2 digits indicate the performance level within the family.  However, once you get into the 50, and below, there is usually very little performance difference between generations.

That said, an NVidia 760 would be a much better upgrade.  It would still need to be tweaked with AH3, but it would run much better than that 250 GTS.

After seeing your DxDiag in another post it seems that getting a better video card would cause serious bottlenecks in several other areas.

The only positive thing in your plan is that the 750 Ti needs much less power than your 250 so you don't have to buy a new power supply. Other than that your computer specs are on the low side so instead of trying to beef it up, getting a newer one would give you much more pleasure. For both versions of AH you might be happily surprised with a used computer that's half of the age of your current one. I.e. ~5 years or so.

yeah Ito a computer that needs some beef. However I can't afford a whole new system at once so I have to just keep greasing her joints and see what she'll do. It handles ah3 fine. Ah 3 at 35 fps.with eye candy at almost min. Hope a new graphics card helps.
