Seems "Space sims" are the new target for marketing. Ya go to Thrustmaster and there is a space theme. The Saitek X55 is now a space age X56 with "blue and fake chrome" highlights ! Its a outrage!  :old:

TM has a press conference coming up in the first week of May, apparently unveiling a new line of sticks.  Probably a new "Space" one too, but  I'm hoping for a follow on to the Warthog of some sort as well. 

Last I head Saitek was making a dedicated Star Citizen Hotas along these lines - http://techreport.com/news/29202/mad-catz-shows-off-its-dedicated-star-citizen-hotas-controller

Maybe they  dropped that and just went with the X56.  The description on the Amazon pre order page say it's an RGB controller and can be matched to the color of your other RGB desktop stuff, but it looks like that blue crap is there to stay.

I guess this is why the X-55 Rhino is largely unavailable?  The 'spacey' unit is a Rhino with a couple of changed switches and a new paint job?

Those silly boys at Saitek can't sustain production of two largely similar products?
