EA never had any interest in revamping AW, they didn't purchase Kesmai because of the game, they purchased the studio because of the network code that was used.

Thats what I understood as well. You can search Google and all you'll find are links to old post at Sim HQ, a wiki listing and a bunch of old site singing the praise of the game from way back then.

The devs of Fighter Ace were in no way involved with the devs of Air Warrior.  Two separate companies with separate games.
