I wonder if just as one person can take command of a CV it could be possible to let others take command of the remaining group?
Its no point exposing carriers right at the battle when all u want is the cruiser with its BIG BAD GUNS to attack the nme base....
In this way the carrier could be left out away from the battle...
The cruiser and destroyers could carry on individually under the command of different people and attack land bases while providing ack cover. The Carrier could launch aircraft from its remote position and thus still be an effective weapon. I dont believe that in the real world the carriers are exposed to such threats as nearby nme land bases.
