« on: July 13, 2016, 04:32:04 PM »
I have a travel laptop. i bought it 6 mo. ago. it has a core I5- 5200u  a nividia card geforce 940m with 2 gb of dedicated ram. 8gb memory and 1000gb hdd. i cant play aces high 3. any ideas? i downloaded the game and was playing at my dinner table with the wifi and it was really bad. I can play the old version just fine with full graphics. I look forward to the doom and gloom. Peace.

The CPU is probably fine -- not sure about the graphics chip performance.

I would suggest flying offline to test out if there are any combination of graphics settings that seem to work OK for frame rate.

Start with the default settings and turn off graphics features a couple at a time and see if you start getting an OK frame rate.  Make sure your slider in the graphics settings is set to "none" or the minimum value.

Did you try turning down your graphics? I doubt you are going to manage anything high quality from that graphics card. My GTX 750 is more powerful than the 940m.

GTX 940 is at the lowest end of the 900 series and being the mobile version it's even weaker.

If you haven't already heard, AH3 relies heavily on the graphics card whereas AH2 leans on the processor side. That's why you can play AH2 with almost full graphics, the i5-5200 is a powerful processor.

As Dragon Tamer said, turn down your graphics but don't expect miracles. Put them at the lowest and start adding one notch at a time until you find a balance between performance and looks.

Open the Options->Graphic Details->Advanced panel in the game and uncheck most of the options and see how it performs.  The 940m is not going to be able to run with all the graphic options enabled.
