Ah thank you Pudgie, I'll check their site and look for Crimson 16.7 then. Cheers!
EDIT to add: I DL'd the 16.7 (they are referred to as "Hotfix" on the website. I ran the installer, first selecting to uninstall everything, and then rebooted when it finished. Checked my display drivers in Device Manager and it said version 16.150.2401.0.
Then I reran installer, let it install everything (incl "Raptor", "AMD Gaming Evolved", & VulkanRT). Rebooted after install; driver version in my Radeon settings app indicated 16.7.2.
Device Manager shows version 16.200.1035.1001 now.
DX 11 version is still broken for me - I see two cursor arrows when I get into the tower- the game's cursor arrow and Windows' own cursor arrow. The both move together, though at slightly different rates. Only the game cursor highlights any game menu items but if I try to select anything, I get a hard freeze and must kill Aces High task with Task Manager - it takes several tries to get the program to close.
DX9 version seems to work OK for me though.
Ah Ok,
Question,
Do you have desktop scaling enabled (set other than the default setting of 100%) in Windows to make text or shortcut icons larger?
If you do then try this,
Right click on the shortcut to Beta Dx11 and select Properties, Compatibility tab and put check in box beside "Disable display scaling when using high DPI settings" , hit Apply, Ok then try it again to see if the double mouse pointer goes away.
While you're at it you could also check the box beside "Disable visual themes" as well as this will turn off Aero Glass when the game is executed and will turn Aero Glass back on when you exit the game.........as I seriously doubt you'll be looking for any of this while playing. Just a suggestion................
Now if you're not using Windows desktop scaling (set at the default setting of 100%) then you might check the Crimson drivers to ensure that the GPU scaling, if enabled, is set to either "Preserve Aspect Ratio" (the ratio of your display at it's native res....16:9 for example) or "Full Panel" (scale display to cover the full viewing area....which should be the same result as Preserve Aspect Ratio) OR if you're using the Radeon Settings game profiles to set up the GPU driver settings for the Beta, make sure in Profile Options that the setting "Display Scaling" is set to "Off" (this setting will enable display scaling in the game the profile was made for).
Now if none of this helps you out then you might need to check the drivers for your mouse if you're using drivers other than the Windows supplied drivers and control software (such as a Logitech mouse using Logitech's SetPoint software) for any conflicts if set up in Game Mode.
Otherwise I think you got an issue that you may need to check in w\ Skuzzy and Co.
One more thing unrelated to this issue............
Since you're running an AMD R9 280X vid card, you might look into disabling the Power Efficiency setting in the Global driver settings section under the Gaming section as I've found this setting to cause issues when running the Beta Dx11 version as for some reason that I haven't found why yet the driver when reading the Beta Dx11 graphics calls sent to driver for the GPU\shader cores to execute the GPU power is cut excessively causing the GPU to down clock and cause stuttering w\ a "loping motion" to the display. Turning this off resolves this issue. This setting doesn't show to affect the Beta Dx9 version regardless of whether it is enabled or not, just the Dx11 version. This feature was debuted in Crimson 16.3.2 drivers forward...........
FYI..........................
.....
Hope this helps.

PS--When you want to update AMD Crimson drivers you can do this thru the Radeon Settings Updates section as well. Just hit the "Check for Updates" box and if a new driver is found then click on the > sign and click on update. You should see the same dialog box come up after the new driver is downloaded and executed that will ask whether you want to update (will read current driver installed setup and will install new driver according to the current driver setup choices made) or install (do full uninstall, then perform full driver install). I have tested the "Update" function and it works well.
Just thought I'd mention this as well if this is something that interests you.
