Ok seems to take a turn for the worse now, fighting is ongoing and sounds like elements of the army is fighting each other too... It is apparently far from over yet..

I was watching the live feeds below, i understand some of the people on the street  are pro Erdogan ; Turkey currently hosts  60 x B61 nukes at Incirlik air force base , let's hope they don't get lost in this turmoil.

https://youtu.be/mxcfhDnD1Q0

http://www.euronews.com/news/streaming-live/

I would watch, but I'm limited to 256kb/s and rarely get over 20kb/s.

I believe that's the air force base that hosts our air force guys, per the OP. I'm not so sure our guys would let them go so easily, but I also don't know if they intend to stay.

Ok seems to take a turn for the worse now, fighting is ongoing and sounds like elements of the army is fighting each other too... It is apparently far from over yet..

If only it could have been simple, for a change.

And I believe military helicopters were targeting state tv broadcasting locations but I could be wrong.

So... Civil war then.

Good chance. Though I think Turkey has a better chance at rebounding from this turn of events than, say, Syria. However, as in always, only time will tell.

Nato will make a move if nukes need to be secured.

Technically the nukes are American, so if the military can't control the situation I assume the U.S. will take some kind of action securing them.

Coup d'état effectively failed after 5 hours, reports I saw were that is was Islamic elements attempting to take over and over 150 have been arrested and a number were still holding under siege.
