Anyone live in or near Chattanooga? The wife and I are moving there this week, and are wondering about things to do, and places to go.
Thanks in advance.

Back in the mid 1860's there was a little ruckus down thata way.

Things to do: Pack
Places to go: Anywhere out of there.

I'm pretty sure Chattanooga doesn't exist outside of Mark Twain fiction.

Hey NOT. I just moved to CHA from CAE in March and there is a lot to do here. Two big lakes connected by the Tennessee river. Tons of bars and restaurants. Lots of live music, only 2 hrs to Nashville. Surrounded by mountains with untold number of hiking trails and attractions.
BW1stPar also is from CHA and can add.
Welcome to Tanasi!

I grew up in Chattanooga (went to high school with BW1stpar)

The Tennessee Aquarium is nice.  Fresh water and salt water fish.

If you have young kids, the Creative Discovery Museum offers hands on fun learning.

Rock City up on lookout mountain

Incline Railway (goes Straight UP lookout mtn.)

TN River walk / Coolidge Park / Walnut Street pedestrian bridge (all tied together along TN river)

Murder Mystery dinner theater shows are a hoot

The Choo--Choo?   Its mainly a hotel with a train and railcars on static display.  But they do have sleeping cars you can rent overnight.  Station House Cafe for dinner where the waiters & waitresses sing up on stage.  Then breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. Bands play concerts @ Track 29.

Tennessee Valley railroad museum has different length rides you can take on vintage trains.

There's lots more, but that's my starter list for ya.  Welcome to Chattanooga!

Isn't there a ton of Civil War sites within a reasonable radius if you have the interest?
