Early Hours Boredom
« on: July 31, 2016, 05:13:01 AM »
HiTech,

Can you please give me a suggestion for what I should do here?  There is a huge map where the only con attacking the portion I can reach is a 234 and I have another 320 minutes to switch sides?

There's a set of bases flashing a few hundred miles away and I can't do anything about it.  Those 3-4 guys over there sure look like they're having fun.

Why there's even ENY or lengthy side switches or enormous maps when there's 21 people in the arena is beyond me.  If this was my normal flying hour, I wouldn't pay you any money for this game.

A good decision from a few years ago might not be a good decision now.  Please revisit your game play model.  Thanks.

+1 side switch time back down to an hour...often times during the day there is only one front that is active.

+1 to certain large maps being removed

I agree with side switch time, as for maps, unless two maps were reset in a short order, the MA map would have been either Crater MA or Mesa. Both of which are of medium size and fairly easy to find a fight. As for the truly large maps, I do agree that a certain two need to be done away with.

Sorry to hear it's getting this way at weekends too. These are my normal flying hours so I understand the frustration. I also often get trapped after changing countries to find a fight only to find they've also logged. I sometimes practice my BFM a bit but that gets boring. I sometimes wait for an hour hoping more players will show up but often they don't and I log and watch a film instead. It's a shame. A great Virtual Environment but largely underpopulated atm.

You call that a medium size? With these numbers you need about 9 to 12 bases a team.

Crater is large but it has one of the best tank fights in the game....maybe a small map from 0200 EDT to 1500 EDT and then all maps enabled the rest of the day??

If they'd just let us switch sides that'd be all it took.  You could have the largest map in the world and I could go find something to do.

Let's face it - the "wildly fluctuating ENY" problem he's talking about as being the reason we can't have a reasonable side switch isn't happening prime time with the 6 of us who'll actually switch, and ENY isn't doing anyone any favors this early in the morning, either.

the fix is simple keep the switch times but swapping to a lower numbered team is always instant.

An an update for Vudak's July meltdown...  Now, there's 34 bish to 12 Rooks, I'm stuck on Bish, but of course I can't do anything about this for another 90 minutes or so because I switched sides 4 or so hours ago and we wouldn't want ENY to swing wildly now would we.

But hey HiTech, you know best, forever and always  :aok

I must just be some clueless dolt to not see what's so great about this.

make the time limit on side switching lower, but make it so the person switching has to go to the lower number team of the 2 switching to. Keep people from switching sides when getting close to a map reset just for the win.
Just a thought.

Should be pushed to the "wishlist"

And I agree.  Based on current numbers during those hours, I think 1 hour is appropriate for now.

With the numbers right at this moment, six bases per side would be plenty.
