People are to scared to switch anyway, the loyalty to the chess piece is strong (for no apparent reason), I usually switch if eny goes >20. It just fun to trying to kill squadies. With radio on 'Squad' you can talk to them regardless of what team you are on. If ENY is 2 million and you dont find any fight, why not just let a few in the squad switch and arrange a duel or something? People gonna whine about spies but I just ignore it, they will stop eventually.

This is one small fix on a road of fixes that need to be done to fix gameplay.

Nerfing m3 supplies and limiting manned guns to some extent.  Make there a penalty for dieing in one?

Anyways +1.

Oh noes!  Getting killed in a manned ack will count as a death!? :noid

FYI: It could count as a BILLION DEATHS, my box of care would still be empty. :)

I think it would probably require a manual adjusting of the switch time from HTC each time we went to/from off peak hours (they'd need to write a program to do it for them).  Regardless, I wonder if adjusting the switch time requires a restart. :headscratch:  If it does, I can see why HTC hasn't started doing it already.  Having to restart the server every day, twice a day...  Even with a noticeable warning with a substantial amount of time, people are gonna potato about that.  It's probably a bit hard on the server as well.

Again, I'm not against the wish at all.  Hopefully HTC can work something out. :aok

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

Anything that is manned by a player and gets destroyed by another player should be a kill.  I see a lot of folks sitting in manned guns when i fly to a base to kick up a fight.  Many times,  nobody ups a plane or GV for defense.

My guess is this goes hand and with score  and being able to sit in a gun pit with no consequences.

Dont get me wrong,  if im heading to a base and a few guys meet me half way to defend,  and die,  go ahead,  grab your field gun.  My point is finding ways to make it NOT the first method of choice for guys.  You arent going to find many new players that come to a game during off peak hours to shoot at manned ack.

I also dont think side switching should change at all depending on the time of day.  1 hour all day every day.

I really don't think score has anything to do with it.  I believe it's more to do with they see their options as "up and get shot down" versus "sit in manned gun and possibly kill the guy".

Why would getting shot down matter if you dont care about score?  Like I said,  there is usually no attempt to fight for a base.  Id rather see them takeoff the opposite direction and come in at 15k than never up at all.

Like I said in my earlier post,  its a turn off for potential new guys looking for an action packed game.  Action being the key.

I will say these large maps dont help either,  it gets difficult to defend a front with 15 bases on each side.  Gets to be like playing  whack a mole.

Regardless,  I guess can anyone give me a good reason why manned guns shouldnt count as a kill?  Its okay for them to get landed kill messages but not to have a death possible?

Seems kind of silly.

Because a lot of people don't like to lose, for some reason.  I've seen people dive from 2k ABOVE me to run to their ack on the first pass.  I don't get it, but it happens.

As a formerly proficient destroyer of vulchers with the 37mm field gun, I agree that you shouldn't be able to "land" field gun kills.  The kills are reward enough, but really add up to nothing.  However, killing a field gun should also not count as a "kill", since one rocket within 100 yards or cannon shell within shouting distance takes them out.  That would be the easiest kill in the game and would only encourage more vulching.

What I don't get is how you could simultaneously have so many people who refuse to switch chess pieces driving ENY through the roof, and so many people who want to switch sides that it would cause terrible imbalances if the side switch time was lower.

How the heck does THAT work?

BOOM.

Unfortunately one active squad alone move can cause unbalance, if they have a bunch of active players during low-player number TZ
