Enabling mouse control in field guns

Feeling like a bit of a numpty here, but figure I may as well ask...  I have set up my GV gun controls for mouse controls.  It works fine.

When I get into a field gun or bomber turret, I cannot use the mouse to control the gun at all.  I have tried switching to mode 2 manually.  I have tried pressing the "toggle mouse control" button.  I have tried pressing the button set to hold down for mouse control.  All the above steps have failed.

I am guessing I am missing something blindingly obvious, but can't imagine what it is.

Anyone got any ideas?

My mouse works for field and bomber guns and I don't have it set to anything except button one to fire guns. I can toggle it with "h".

You could try mode 3 with the mouse unassigned except the fire button.

Is your clipboard open?

Using the mouse to move field guns around works for me only if the clipboard is closed.

Hey wiley You will Have to map a key on your keyboard to select the mode which the mouse has been modified to work for the guns. Simply being in the gun and selecting the mode type will not make it work. I know that because the same thing goes for CM eye Mode when I am in the King of the Hill. So simply map the mode to a keyboard key that is not used and when you are in the gun press that key and you should be on your way.

Been trying to use mode 4 for this.  Mode 3's my CMEYE setup for KOTH.

Doesn't seem to work.  I've got mouse control mode mapped to shift-z instead of H.  I have my aileron roll and pitch axes mapped to mouse x and y.  I've got fire all guns on left click.  Clipboard is closed.

I change to mode 4 after entering the 88, and nothing good happens no matter what I try.

Very odd.

hmmmm....that is wierd, is mode 4 modified? Make sure that it is.

well Wiley like you I also like the mouse for the 88 so i checked my settings  and here is what i did. first off o selected mode 3 and mapped the key as the ( END )  you of course can pick any key you want  but I dont like to have to hit shift so I took that part out. I have attached a pic of my settings as i use the wheel for range and right click to select secondary .  just a note here if i hit the H  key i cannot move the gun so you may try hitting the H key or in your case (shift z) or both  see if this helps.

I was knocking around in Beta last night and noticed a "disable all mouse controls" checkbox in the Beta client.  ...Does that exist in AH2?  If so I'd be pretty confident that I checked it at some point in the past.  Will be checking when I get home.  I was going to do it last night but got sidetracked by a shiny object.

Weird.  I've done pretty much everything I can think of.  Tried everything in the thread.  It just doesn't make sense.  Ah well, no big thing.

ahhhh there is always a solution. you had mentioned a disable mouse in AH3 well there is in AH2 as well. see photo. 1 other thing when you switch from mode 1 or 2  or 3 and use mode 4  is the mouse showing as your control and not your stick? the possibilities here are endless here but 1 thing to keep in mind . since you have bounced around in AH3 is the same problem exist there?

Yup.  Astonishingly, unchecking "disable all mouse controls" solved the problem.  Funny that.  Thanks folks.
