New Build due to Crash of Old Machine
« on: August 04, 2016, 02:02:26 PM »
My computer finally crashed, multiple times this past weekend and was not able to bring it back to life.  Was to be expected as it is I believe over 10 years old and.  Originally the operating sys was Vista.  A few years later I moved to Win 7 and then later Win 7 Pro.  Last upgrade was (I believe in 2009) to an updated ASUS mother board with an Intel Quad Core CPU at 2.4 ghz.  That, along with the ATI video cards in cross fire, since upgraded to a single 4800 series card worked well with AH2.

New system, I am hoping will not have to replace it for a number of years and hopefully will allow "Eye Candy" performance with AH3 :)

New System

CPU – I7-6700K (I don't believe I will be overclocking, but I like the potential if needed.
MOBO – ASUS Maximum VIII Hero Z170 Chipset
MEM – 32 GB  Viper Elite Series DDR4, 2133 M
Power Supply -  Antec HCG-850M
SSD For OS -  Toshiba 120 GB
Case – Corsair 760T

The video card is the critical component for AH3, once you have a fast enough CPU.

I'd use minimum 2400 DDR4 and 3200 if you can afford it.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

If you can't it's not the end of the world. You probably wouldn't be able to notice the performance boost there. Or, to be more exact, you won't notice any lack of performance with your current choice. The amount means more than the speed as long as we're talking about the same generation of RAM.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

iaqmya's New System

CPU – I7-6700K (I don't believe I will be overclocking, but I like the potential if needed.

MOBO – ASUS Maximum VIII Hero Z170 Chipset    <--- which model are you wanting? they make like 3 or 4 different versions of this MB

MEM – 32 GB  Viper Elite Series DDR4, 2133 M  <--- which model are you wanting? they make like 3 or 4 different versions of this Memory

Power Supply -  Antec HCG-850M  <--- which model are you wanting? they make like 3 or 4 different versions of this PSU with varying warranties! Also NOTE that these particular Models all have (2) 12V Rails at 40A each..............not something most around here would recommend.... I suggest you get a Single Rail with like 65A + ( 70A+ preferred )

SSD For OS -  Toshiba 120 GB  <--- which model are you wanting? they make like 3 or 4 different versions of this SSD

Case – Corsair 760T <--- which model are you wanting? they make like 3 or 4 + different versions of this PC Case

You also did not list any type of Video Card ( Nvidia or AMD?), no mention of a Sound Card, or Monitors, or Keyboards/Mouse, etc.......

your opening post did not really mention if you was asking for help and if what you posted was a decent choice or if it would work.......... or if you was just posting making a statement that you are building a new PC, due to your Old PC Crashing.....

Hope this helps,      let us know if we can be of any help in matching components up for you or if you have any questions

Have A Good Weekend, Cheers

Nice to read that it wasn't only my poor understanding of a foreign language. I even thought he already had got that setup.

For the money, I would suggest the Fractal Design case, instead of the Corsair case.  You would be hard pressed to find a quieter computer case. Of course, that assumes you are interested in a quiet computer system.

Video card is an ASUS R9-390 with 8 gig memory.

System should be delivered sometime either this weekend or the first of the week :)
