No Man's Sky
« on: August 11, 2016, 12:03:50 AM »
Is anyone else playing No Man's Sky?  Been playing it on my PS4 and I have to say that it's one of those games that you'll either love or hate and so far I admit that I am lovin' it.  If anyone remember the old Starfleet games, NMS is like that game but in first person view.  The procedural planets and life forms is pretty cool, I've landed on some weird looking planets with life forms that look like were created by someone on a really, really good acid trip.

Starfleet?  Which one?  :headscratch: When Starfleet is mentioned, I immediately think of Starfleet Command.

Bait has been telling me that I need to get this. I'm not clear on what the game objectives are or if this is MP? He says you "could" run into others, but are unlikely to?

He also was having problems with the game crashing when he tries to warp.

the objectives  of the game is to separate you from your money.  There appear to be several reviews on the game online, from what I read, I'll pass.

Are you thinking Starflight?  I was seriously hooked on that one.  Reading the descriptions, it sounds like it's worth trying out.. Just have to wait for the PC version.

That game looks like a huge time sink. I'm at the point in my life that I like to pop in, play for a little while and then log out. If fun or finding the fun takes more than 45 minutes to an hour, that game just isn't worth it. It is much like foreplay, I'd rather avoid as much of it as I can.

Who wants to play a game and miss life entirely?

Played No Mans Sky last night. Very impressive game in my opinion. Very vast with the species, and planetary models. Just left my first planet and I'm in outer space, attempting to figure out hyper drive. Didn't have much time to get into the game, with new teacher orientation and football practice.

If you want we can try it on PS4, I could use a good guiding hand.  :salute

I haven't left the 2nd planet I've discovered, already have something like 10 hours just exploring the planet.  I found a transmission beacon and activated it, gave me a waypoint to a crash site.  When I got to the location there was a small cargo ship that was wrecked and needed resources to fix.  Since I had the resources on me, I fixed it and ended up with a cargo ship that has warp capabilities.
