DX9 or DX11 in Beta
« on: August 13, 2016, 05:22:24 PM »

I hope this is the right place for my Question.

Since I've heard the DX11 ver. of the beta is primarily set up for VR headsets, is there any advantage of 11 over 9 when only
using Track IR? If so, what would that be?

My rig uses the new GTX 1070 vid card with an i7-4820K cpu @ 3.7Gherz and 16 G of ram running Win 7 Pro.

Obviously I would like all the eye candy and a steady 60 fps.......Thanks.

Some are nor DX 11 capable so they run 9. If you can run 11 then run it. As for if it is different, they would not make 11 if 9 was fine for everything.

DX11 has new powerful features that 9 doesn't have so it can improve everything graphics related. The improvements aren't limited to VR. DX11 should improve both performance and image quality. As Shuffler said, if your system is DX11 capable, run it.

Create a shortcut on your desktop then browse to your Beta Folder and find the DX11.exe. That is all. Then click on that shortcut to start the game.
