Xonar X7 No Go
« on: August 25, 2016, 05:46:29 AM »
Installed the AHIII pre-release.

Speakers aren't detected at game launch, so no sound.

Xonar X7 sound card with only headphones attached.

Any hints?

Check the Options->Game Sounds settings in the game to see what everything is set to.  We take all the settings from Windows, but if something changes, you will need to change it in the game.

Thank you for the reply sir.

Sees it in game options but on initial game launch doesn't detect speakers and kills sound. Xonar only has headphones plugged in  and the switch is set to headphones. Default playback device in windows is the Xonar Headphones option.

See this image?

Where you see speakers checked in the left panel, you should have them all set to headset.  Also check the "Speakers" and "Headset" drop down lists, in the right panel, and make sure you select the headsets there as well.

By the way, check the DXDIAG output and see if there are multiple sound devices installed and acrive.  That can also be a problem, especially if you have the AMD or NVidia sound devices installed and are not using them.

I put Windows 10 on an SSD. Clean install, everything worked.

Have enjoyed getting back into it and the difference between AHII and AHIII is phenomenal.
