Changing ingame name caused account to be locked out...

Reported by a squaddie. He changed his name from Sgtron54 to Sgtron1 and had to log out to get the name change. Found himself unable to get back in as a result. Ended up creating another account so he could fly with us.

Might be worth looking into.

IIRC that is normal, you can not change your user name in an existing account.

You change change your ingame name once every 30 days, however you will lose your perks and achievements. You can change just the casing (upper and lower case) on your ingame name and it wont effect anything.

Log in just as you did before you attempted to change your name.

Your login does not change when you change your game id.
