Did you try disabling "post lighting"?

Anti-alias will make the gauges less sharp in AH3.

That seems like a major downgrade from AH2.  AA didn't seem to effect the gauges at all.

Maybe the pitch ladder and other hud info is there (which I shut off) because the gauges are hard to see if you select a usable fov like 106, and not visible at all if you use the paper towel tube 80 fov.

I moved the speed\alt hud just below my gunsight, for the most part that is all you use in this game if at all.

While a great work around, I feel that an 80 FOV is too narrow.  I tried 99, and it felt like I lost planes when things got twisty. 

The big thing I lose going to the TP tube 80 FOV is the ammo counter.
