I have 2 970's but have been told by Skuzzy that SLI bad juju.  SLI is turned off.  Also currently active are: Firefox, Steam, World of Warships, Aces High III and have a movie playing via Window's DVD Player.

Maybe I should shut down everything (except AHIII, dur :P) to see if that would improve FPS?  I don't think it will. :headscratch:

I have tried to show people how to activate SLI with AH, because there is no profile and you will have to create one. It's not hard to make one, but maybe we can talk Nvidia into packaging one with their drivers?

I know Chalenge, you did tell me about it.  Also, I have 3 options for power. Optimal, Adaptive and Max.  Mine defaults Optimal.  Didn't know about the changes to power and SLI with driver updates though.  This is good to know, as I had it set to Max prior.  Would explain a couple of things. :o

I do have to wonder exactly how much of an improvement it will make however. :headscratch:  How much of an improvement did it make on your system?  How did it hold up in an FSO type launch or 40+ ppl launching from a single field at same time (if you were able to test that)?  Was it along the lines of "minor", or "night and day"?

Well, I have not been in an FSO for years. Earlier in the beta I went from 43 to 60 fps, but the testing parameters were different for a number of reasons. Now at 2160p (UHD) and SLI forced to method 2 I get 60fps (59 is sometimes reported). If I use the Nvidia recommended settings (with SLI on but the profile unloaded) I get 37fps at 2160p (UHD). When I run on a single GPU I get the same results of 37fps at 2160p (UHD), so clearly the user created profile works. These frame rate tests are conducted just as ammo suggested in this thread (in the hangar everything on), though I did tweak the sliders to a common setting and have Env set to 2 instead of All. Probably a congested launch like you see in FSO would cause a massive frame hit, but I think that happens to everyone. Test it out and see for yourself.

Definitely will.  Thank you for the information.  The jump from 37 to around 60 is something I'd call "night and day". :)  Yeah, when I first got my 5770's, even my FPS would drop from 95 to around 80 during an FSO launch, but this was years ago, when my AA would work at max, and was WELL before we had the environmental mapping.

I'll copy what you had put in the video, adjusting if needed.  Again, thank you. :aok :salute
