Aces High has consistently been the most stable piece of gaming software Ive ever played. Of all things to be concerned about the stability of the game is the last one I'd worry about.

Actually I'd bet it was rushed out to release, and even there has been more stable then most initial writes. I have no doubt all issues will be addressed. Boy I cant believe the state of some of the game releases Ive seen over the years.

What's the game coming to if Rapier can't sit above a furball and incessantly pick...Don't you people realize that he needs everything to be perfect to BnZ and then run...errr....extend away from anyone that gets within 4k of him...

Why would people not turn up for entertainment like that? I don't get it, some folks are just not team players, we need more subs to feed action like this  :rofl

I know right...

The last time I played in AH2 all I did for about 2 hours was chase him and his crony wingman around up to 30k and down into the ack...

The people who took part in the open alpha or beta for several months have mentally transitioned to the difference.

Probably was the most important to give the beta a try to see if your PC was going to handle it.  Plenty of posts in this forum all thru the beta, alpha and pre-release about requirements and bugs.  But, most of all getting into the beta to see fields, towns, guns etc. so the release wouldn't be a total surprise. I was unhappy thru the beta trying to get frame rates usable and finally changed the graphics card in the alpha.  I would have hated to wait till AH2 was gone to get into AH3 to find out what my PC needs were going to be.

The sound is an issue, but one that is workable just like the multiple sound packs used in AH2, AH3 will get them too in time.

Surprised to see some complaining the game didn't change enough and it's just the same old game and then the ones wanting a bunch of things turned back to AH2 style.

What an honor! Like they always said its their $15 they can play how they like! A lot strive to stay alive in game and never record a death. The people who they bored to death with this style of gameplay have beaten them at their own game, they now record no deaths forever in game because they quit the game  :rofl and their former tormentors are in here complaining about it  :rofl

Problem with the Beta was there was never any people in there my time...so I couldn't experience how AH3 was actually going to look....literally found out the other day that large fields had puffy ack, I was definitely not spending my time flying to a large field just to have ack shoot at me.

You spent two hours chasing a bnz'er who had alt on you? I presume you died? So maybe that's not the best use of your time?

I'm not sure what your dislike of Rapier's style of play has to do with his complaints about the game.

And if you're so mad because you waste hours chasing people with superior E, that you post on an unrelated topic to complain that he's not flying how you want him to... well, that sounds like a personal problem  ;)

Large fields don't have that. Only huge fields do.  :old:

And it's just four guns. Distracting, very annoying but not particularly deadly.

I sense the OPs real problem is frustration. I can't shoot, I can't see, SA sucks, I keep crashing into the water, and so on. Give it time. With any challenging game you are bound to be frustrated until you get better.

I commented with a few others during the game that my SA stinks and like others have said you have to break the habits of AH2 getting your cue from sounds. Here your head needs to be on a constant look out for the enemy. This new visual experience seems to have the closing speeds of other aircraft so much quicker. The Aircraft behave a little differently and some with more seat time are a bit better at it.

Easy Games don't hold interest for long. "A lovely walk in the park interrupted by moments of severe frustration" is the other Game I love that can be very challenging.  :airplane:

I always wanted to fight an impossible battle against incredible odds.

Guys responding as if Rapier is new, understand that he's been playing this type of sim since 1990.

He's experienced new versions several times, and the ups and downs that go along with migrating to new environments.

DX11 is the default game setting-dx11 is okay
DX9 is more stable-use it-you can find it in aces high3 folder. set it to your desktop.
FOV  field of view-play with it 106 is probably the best
hard hearing other players-is either your receive volume is to low or the other players transmit volume is to low-a lot of players are soft spoken.
for the 1st time in ah career HiTech himself has been playing the game  IN GAME
Waffle has also been seen in game checking on reported bugs.

they are still working to fix any and reported bugs, and updating when they are fixed.
my computer is 6 or 7 years old it is a basic rent to own from AArons, thanks to 2 friends 1 donated a video card 1 donated a power supply-both used.. Video card-NVDIA EVGA GEFORCE GTX670-2GB GDDR5 MEMORY PCI EXPRESS 3.0 I GET 59-60 FPS and a Strider 750watt power supply
I have only discoed 2 times in 4 weeks--I disco more if its raining hard on my internet dish
and since AH3 went live I've see 170 plus people every night-in last year of AH2 lucky to see that number on Friday or sat night.
AH3 use DX9 play with video settings-play with volume settings play with FOV
and don't tell me you can't find a fight-that's just hog wash. :airplane: let the flamebaiting begin
