OP is mad because he only flies one type of mission in one of two planes.

Maybe mixing it up a bit would bring more fun.

Guys responding as if Rapier is new, understand that he's been playing this type of sim since 1990.

He's experienced new versions several times, and the ups and downs that go along with migrating to new environments.

This.   Give Rapier some credit for thinking this through before he wrote it.  He's good people.

I like Rapier.  He's a pal from way back in the Air Warrior days.

I hope that whatever is going on for his setup smooths out for him, and I hope that he can join us in the October 22nd "Tunisia 1943" scenario.

Basically the only thing that has changed from AH2 to 3 is graphics. There were one or two issues with dot size and tracer viability but those are completely gone now.

The gunnery has not changed.

The FM's have not changed, with the exception of the almost meaningless rpm lagg.

The views have not changed.

The colors are....colors? I dont even know what to say to that.

The menus are if anything, more streamlined. And we have some new options that are really nice. Like built in VR.

The damage model is the same.

Absolutely nothing aside from the two caveats I pointed out has changed game play wise in AH3. The planes fly the same, shoot the same, see the same.

It is absolutely incredible how many completely fabricated problems people are having with the new game.

I know that personally about half the guys I have flown with for 10 years are just quitting because this doesn't work. They won't post because it seems to do little good. Posting only results in an avalanche of "its really your fault!!" on the boards.

There are a lot of people in this thread that are proving this statement true  :rofl

There are a lot of people in this thread that are proving this statement true  :rofl

People are responding with indignation because the indignation of the OP has no basis in fact. Essentially every issue he is having is nonsense. Some of them don't even make logical sense, such as his complaint regarding colors.

Aside from the utter nonsense being spouted in this thread and others, the conversation in the game can sometimes be hilarious. Minus the relatively rare real issue, the 200 is full of people with every conceivable complaint. 99% of which are completely rubbish accusations of gameplay changes that have not occurred.

This is coupled with a slew of clear computer illiterate individuals who blame the game for every issue they have. We have people buying insanely overkill gpu's for this game because forum blowhards are recommending asinine overcompensation for upgrades. Then we have another group of people who are having a hissy fit because they have to upgrade their computer for the first time in a century.

Well, a testament to a great game, movie, TV show, etc. is that we love it so much that, in the times we feel it lets us down, it really bothers us. AH is a great experience, and I'm sure each of us has something we'd like to see done better, or simply to our liking.

And, of course, it's okay for the others to disagree!

The best part is that we can settle it in the skies!

i think AH3 is a far better game than AH2 ... people will used to it sooner or later.. and when all the terrains get redesigned and released  that will help- i wasen't around for AH1 or the start of AH2-but i understand there was alot of bugs to fix-and that took time. i figure it'll be the sameway for AH3.
for years people were hollering for a change in Aces High-and when it finally happened people are gripeing, that stuff are not getting fixed fast enough or or there are to many trees ,or when i bomb strats they don't stay down long enough.or can't see for the 45 minute night time.change to gv spawns in crater ma.

can't we just play the GAME? and enjoy ourselves. our squadmates or countrymen. can't think of anymore to complain about--let the flamebateing begin

well, I did try the early beta of III many months ago, very very early on.
I installed III the other day to give it a try. Interesting go be flying on mindano 16 years later.. lol

I see none of the points that the OP observes after one sorti. Views are fine in TrackIR. Shooting is fine but my CH stick has not been tuned for dead bands.
I am running at 1440 res and have only a 60 fps monitor so that is the only speed I see so far. I would sugest he shut off two monitors...with track IR seems kind of overkill.
Numbers is the eternal struggle for this kind of game. Not as pretty as some others and not as forgiving. Other games are "free" to play by design.
HT will tune and tweak till he is happy but the fundamental dynamics of the market he cannot change.
The most important thing he can do he is doing, update the game to more modern technology and see if that grows back interest to a hopefully very profitable and enjoyable level.
Having played this game with 4-500 people in an arena I can attest that the effect is amazing compared to any of the competing 30 person battle models of sim.

The only thing that will bring more players to the game and keep them (besides the graphics and marketing) are actionable/playable maps that create big action. Preferably closer bases on a condensed map that don't have 90K mountains infront of them.

Also a smaller FFA arena with low air spawns would bring in a lot of players too, who don't have a lot of time to fly from base to base scouting action on a big map. It would teach them how to fly in AH and would help them get to know the game better.
