No matter how often I calibrate in windows or in game the barrel keeps drifting upwards & wont stay level.

You will have to either add some down trim on the stick, or open/increase the deadband on that axis.

increase dead band in game controller mapping advanced options.

If your joystick is a little loose, it could be providing very small amounts of "up" input to the game. Try increasing the dead band of that axis.

Also in advanced options for your controller, the game will give you a real time feedback of your axis, so you'll be able to see at a glance if the joystick is sending "up" or "down" inputs to the game.

I think every joystick needs a little love from the advanced controller options menus in game, just to configure it to work well for in game.
GOOD LUCK!

I thought all the settings from AHII are supposed to carry over to AHIII?
Thanks for the advice I will readjust it.

Lyric, I think probably your USB IDs had changed and so the settings were unusable.

After looking a little closer the settings did carry over from AHII.
Once I re calibrated the axis's in the advanced tab problem solved.  :aok

At least for me when I imported the settings from AH2, it didn't carry over my joystick and sound settings so I had to redo those in AH3.  Probably same thing happened to you.

You should also be sure you haven't accidentally nudged a trim wheel (in this case for the y-axis) a little.  I've done this before while re-positioning my stick on my desk.  A tiny bit of trim off center will look like a lot of drift in a tank sight.

Just wanted to point out this possible answer in case other read it in the future.
