shimmering
« on: October 03, 2016, 11:58:39 AM »
Anyone else dealing with shimmering trees and/or towns?  The issue seemed to be fixed for me at one point in the beta phase but has returned with a vengeance.  Not sure if this is a bug, technical issue on my end, or alien signals penetrating my tin foil hat.

Tried changing the sliders and settings, to no avail.  My PC is good and frame rate is steady at 59.  Just updated the GTX 970 driver last week, which made no difference.  Running 40 something programs on windows7.  No anti-virus, save for MSE.  Attempted to paste dxdiag report here, but 12000 character limit blocks the post.

I get shimmering trees under certain lighting conditions too, even when the view is entirely steady, i.e. not panning.  (DX9, WinXP)

Now only if I'm zoomed in on something at ground level with trees behind it.

When I zoom in, in a GV to trees looking for a way through them is when it happens to me.  I notice a FR drop under this condition also.

I don't get the shimmering but can somebody with shimmering try this?

Log in to arena, log out (don't close the opening screen), log right back in, see if the trees still shimmer.

Shimmering trees.

Can't see skins in the viewer.

Water is pretty right before I mash into it.

There are lots of visual anomalies that I am sure will be corrected over time.    But trees that shimmer, yes.   The coastal guns also flicker.

I see the same simmering in DX11. Someone told me there was less in DX9 but I see no difference
Balrog in game. Some day my performance may justify the name. LOL
