Yet another reason I like it here.  Real support.  Not stupidity like "Just get gud".  I had intention to try to hit the TA last night, but I got called out and was unable. That's another thing I have to figure out how to get setup is the vox. It's on my system end, so it'll be some trial and error until I get that sorted, but I'll get it sorted.  That's a huge handicap, not being able to say what you need to say when you need to say it.
I should also note, in game, I'm Jim74, everyone's favorite easy target lol.

Well, now that we know what name you fly under we can "assume" a few things by your score.

First, we know you fly german planes mostly and to many that could be your biggest problem  :neener: Your hit percentage is above average, so when you DO get in a firing position you really are hitting well. You have a lot more deaths than kills.

Now the assumptions. German planes are pure fighters. They are squirrely to handle because they were made to get the very most out of the planes. This means there is very little margin for error. They are mostly used for boom and zoom type fighting especially in a crowd. In a turn fight the 109 are "ok", but are no were near the wildcats, zeros, and spits, so if your in a crowd even the 109 should stay with some good energy. Im thinking your getting a bit too deep going for the kill. If you get into a neg energy state your going to be in trouble because most are quicker, or turn better.

Another thing, is your fighting "alone" with out other to watch your back and so are dieing..... a lot. It happens. Once you start working with others, communicating (got to get the vox working) and just being friendly they will start looking out for you more.

Practice, learning the physics of this game (best corning speeds, angles to take to get on a guy with out blowing your E, knowing who is busy and so less likely to see you coming,) and communicating with others will help you along. Your aim is well above average, you just need to learn how to fly in the Aces High skies!

While I was able to get into the TA a little bit last night, it ended up with mostly sorting out the vox, which I think is good to go now, though I'm not 100% sure.

I do have a lot of work to do, and I can see it's going to definitely take some training time.  I get shot down a LOT, I don't have a problem getting aggressive in the attack, but I am conservative with the trigger.  On runs where I don't end up splattered all over the virtual sky, I run out of fuel well before I run out of ammo.  My survival time has generally increased, and my SA is usually good.  I did have a guy pounce me last night and I never saw him til it was too late.  Can't remember his name, but he did a really nice, quick job of dispatching me.

I do tend towards the German planes, mostly the D9, but a little bit of everything.  No idea why, I think I just always felt that they were pretty amazing pieces of machinery, and quite capable in the right hands.  My hands are clearly not the right hands yet.  Every now and then I do catch myself getting caught in turn fights, and that's a huge no-no in 190s as we all know.

At any rate, I want to be here, so it's going to take some time and work to make it right.  I'm not afraid to put in the work, so I'll definitely be seeing some of you in the TA.

I`m glad you got the vox sorted, remember you can test vox by typing your name in radio box V and using T to transmit, you will hear yourself.

I wont be available tonight,it`s FSO night but hit me up next week and we can go over some things!

BTW,despite what Fugi says there is nothing wrong flying German iron! I tend to fly them myself..... :x

We can get working with the lead gunsight and I`ll see from that what I think I can help you with. Any question just ask.

I don't know what the deal is.  Firstly, I'll admit, I'm "old", and I have some bad flying habits that I am actively working on breaking.  I don't know whether it's my controllers, my mapping or whatever, with dead zones and so forth, or if it's just "me".  I'm not new to combat flight sims, if you recall such titles as The Dam Busters and F-15 Strike Eagle (Some of 1985s finest DOS programs lol)...so yeah.  That and everything in between then and now...  I've, until recently, never really had a problem putting hits on the bad guys.  I'm not claiming to be some kind of ace, I'm just saying I've never been this "bad" at combat flight sims in my life.  Maybe I just gotta vent, I don't know.  It's awfully frustrating at this point.

Been here more years than I can remember......going back to the old original game via aol.

my first three years here........I kept up pretty good with others, but realized there were about 20 guys that are just going to consistently better than others...... we all know the names both then and now.  anywho........I actually found out my greatest joy was taking bases.  at that moment....I stopped even looking at my points.  It's was once frustrating....even to the point of wanting to quit way back then...but the whole group thing with taking bases makes it all worth while.  the teamwork is where it's at.

the other thing I dig is naval fights.......and I must say........I am still hoping against hope that we can add an arena just for Naval fights....I've been busting chops about it forever....and I really do hope it comes true soon.  It certainly cannot be hard to add one...we have all the things we need now.  like I suggested way back,  if you want to add a sub that very randomly appears and then vanishes even faster, simply to shoot at.........that would be cool... and if you were lucky enough to see said sub....and sink it.......you got perkies or something....no big whoop.

In the mean time, try a P-47.  It is like flying a shotgun.

Jester if you ever see me on, and your vox is working, I can answer some things and would be happy to. I am in the bottom 1/2 of fighter pilots here and am mostly only decent in bombers but I can answer a lot of technical stuff especially what to map, how to map it, how to set up controllers....ect .

I helped one guy immensely cause he was having a terrible time putting rounds on target. What he was doing wrong was he wasnt trimmed right so I taught him how and where to map auto trim on his controller and then taught him how and where to map manual trim. A thing so simple , when fixed , allowed him to start stacking them and having fun again.

I really recommend you get with a squad. Also keep pen and paper nearby and everytime you learn something write it down so you dont forget it. There are some really good players here so dont even worry about stats. Right now worry about getting your controllers and mapping set right. That, and learning the strengths and weaknesses of the various airplanes and vehicles and how they match up to enemy ones you end up fighting.

Spend some time with a trainer. They can help you more then anything. And hang in there, we all went thru it.
