Log in failed after patch
« on: November 02, 2016, 03:48:10 PM »
I had the patch today and then was unable to log into the online game. Can get into the off line part. Have not been able to log onto DX9 at all since the start but I have to do the patches thru DX9 then switch to DX11 to play but can't even log on after the patch today. Weird....

My guess is it has something to do with a firewall or anti virus software.

Also try renaming your settings folder just to be sure it's not a setting.

I have the same result as Beau.  I thought maybe my account was locked due to subscription lapse (stupid company holding my check an extra week--  account will be resubbed on Friday).

Even attempting to reach Account Administration stops the executable.  This is what happened the last time when I called in and had the account modified manually.

What anti-xxxx are you running?

If you can add executables to the list to be ignored, go in and remove both aceshigh9.exe and aceshigh11.exe, then add them back.

Are either of you available to run a test version today?

HiTech

I just updated to the latest patch and for the first time allowed the Dx9 version to run at the end of the patching. Windows firewall popped in and asked for permissions. If you're using a third party firewall checking the Windows firewall might be worth doing.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

I have turned off virus software, checked my firewall and all seems normal. Still can't log on after yesterday's patch.

Depending on the anti-virus program, disabling it may not stop it from doing its thing.  Many of the anti-xxxx programs just stop reporting issues they find when they are disabled, but they still act on everything. Norton and McAfee are notorious for this.  Kaspersky and AVG may be doing it as well.

I have neither, using Windows Defender and firewall.  ISP is down at the moment. Using my phone to answer. As soon as I am online again, I will check for the test.

This is definitely a Directx 11 issue.  Also, as I suspected my account was locked.  It was only after I used the DiretX 9 version was I able to get past the executable shut downs, and access that screen.

I hope this is helpful.  Will re-sub Friday, if the mailman doesn't get lost  :uhoh  I will report in this thread afterwards if Directx11 works again at that time.  :salute
