Someone else had reported that when they stick their nose down the horizon drops also? I don't think that's an accurate description of what is happening, but it happened to me in the B24. I did not record this, but I do have AHF film which I will review to see if it shows up.
The first thing I noticed on this sortie was a shaded box that was perhaps 75x75 miles covering the terrain which was visible once I got to 20k. It eventually faded away, or I got higher and it was no longer discernable.
I was bombing and had no problems until I turned south. I expected I would have to recalibrate, but the bombsite looked completely odd even after I calibrated. I wrote it off as a sun reflection problem, because it went away once the field appeared. However, when I descended for landing the haze layer (I believe it was) followed the nose of my airplane. Once I was below 15k (I think it was) the problem went away.
See attached screenshot.
(EDIT): Does not show up in film viewer.
