texting on range, blurry map/tankarmor/fieldmaps

1.) Can't use vox but sparingly (big freezes-its my computer) so using text. Is range text only visible to players who have come from the base I have sortied from? (unlike range voice which is proximity as I have always understood it)??

2.) The clipboard maps is blurry, unreadable for terrain or sectors, while icons are sharp. The tank armor diagrams from the clipboard are blurred and unreadable. The clipboard maps are blurred and unreadable but I have printed them out and they are fine. I assume this is a graphics issue and I attempted to fiddle with the settings (turn them up) but could not get it to be unblurred, is there one setting that would be responsible for this?

The anti-aliasing is the setting that softens the edges. Turning it down or off will sharpen the edges making it look less blurry.

I believe that range vox and text are the same.

What do you believe on your computer that is causing the freezes when using vox? Have you asked around here for help in sorting it out? If you haven't, post a Dxdiag when you do ask. Lots of smart computer guys here that can/will help.

That's exactly the way it works.
Note it's not even called "range" in the text box. It's 'room', and indeed it's readable by any player who sortied from the same base, regardless of actual range - it works even all across the map.

I found raising textures to 512 (can't remember the exact number) made the clipboard maps and the tank armor readable. The clipboard map doesn't show sectors still.

At 512 textures, sector numbers disappeared for me.  Went back to 1024, and all was well again.



I believe that range vox and text are the same.
As Lusche said, there is no "range" text, it's "room", and is only seen by those that lifted from the field you lifted from.
